Cybrxkhan's Leaderhead Thread

Considering that the LH itself block quite a bit, I think it's important to have a good looking background at the side and the top. One and three seem to fulfil that and look good in general. Five could be interesting, but the sky is overexposed, only leaving the white area...

Cheers, LT.

I'm still for the first...

Well, I decided to go with the first background for now, since that seems to be the most favored.

Anyhow, but here's a true preview of Mihirakula.

He's not finished, of course - i.e. I haven't done the textures, shadering, and so forth yet. Still, apparently rigging Brennus' armor was easier than I thought. But it was still kind of annoying.

The only other issue right now is the eyes, the left one in particularly - the more experienced LH-makers can correct me if I'm wrong, but I should fix that eye by simply rotating it a bit to the side, correct?

Anyhow, are there any suggestions so far for Mihirakula besides what I've mentioned above?

^Pacal. You may noticed that since I haven't retextured him yet, that there's still that weird face-paint thingy on his forehead. :D

I really like the concept, and I understand the texturing isn't finished but here are my two cents...

I don't know what happened with the eyes, and that is unfortunate because the face looks especially unique and should work well. The armor just seems a bit out of place to me for some reason, I'm sure this could be fixed quite easily with texturing, but I feel like it is odd that he'd wear a turban along with full armor. It just kinda doesn't make much sense to me. Maybe I'm wrong here. Other than those two things, it looks like you are on your way to another fantastic LH. :goodjob:

I hope some of the other experienced modders can give me some advice on the eyes... Because I have encountered that problem before. Anyhow, if worse comes to worse, I'll just either give him an eyepatch, or make his eyes look scarred or something to make it real scary.

As for the armor, I'm pretty sure there isn't any historical-accuracy problems with the armor+turban... although even if there is, I don't really care much anyways. If it looks cool, then it looks cool.

Yeah, anyhow, so if anyone especially the more experienced modders know what the @#$% is wrong with the eye, and how I can fix it, please help ! :please:

What happened to the background??

pacal is a pain to work with. if you attach an animations to the nif you'll see the eyes move into place.

I think I fixed it for caligula by just nifswapping the original eyes - not the blender exported ones because I realigned them.

this stuff is a good reason why I need to get on that animation tutorial because you can fix eyes easily that way.

EdUT: worse case, if you don't figure out the yes I might have some time to help out. just post the blend and nif here before you upload to the DB

I don't know, i think the head is maybe a bit to small compared to the body.
The armor itself seems to be a bit to much...to high (?), which comes, i think, from the to small neck (because of the too small head).

But that could also be just a wrong impression.

I'm basing this guy off Pacal, and, as you probably know, Pacal not only acts like a kid, he looks like one too. Although this LH is supposed to be Indian or Indian-like, so I dunno if that could work in my favor anyways.

Anyhow, I've decided to post a screenshot on where I've gotten so far with Mihirakula, especially concerning the eye issue. I've attached the screenshot below, and, as you can see, he has an EYEPATCH.:viking:

I'm not sure about the historical accuracy and the plausibility of having an eyepatch on an early medieval / late classical Indian/nomadic leader, but I thought it'd be an interesting way to solve the problem I was having with the eyes, as well as a way for me to sort of learn a bit of advanced texturing (i.e. learn how to put a different texture onto the leaderhead).

Anyhow, it may not be too clear from the screenshot, but I'm having problems with animating the eyepatch. However, hopefully I'll have it fixed; if not, I really appreciate your willingness to help again, Ekmek. :) Also note that the final version, the eyepatch will have straps, of course, to hold it up, instead of just floating in the air.

Maybe you should put a patch on both eyes?

^I do agree, since it probably would be easier to animate with a larger piece of whatever rather than a small pirate-patch (although the pirate-patch would still look pretty cool anyways).
