Czechs to change their name?

Which name do you think sounds better in English?

I am not from Czech, just like I am not from French/American/German. I am either from Czechia or the Czech Republic.

Do not use simple "Czech" to denote the country, please. It's an adjective.

Than You are from Milky Way Galaxy-just, like me , welcome to the club hehe :D I am neither from Poladia , Polandia nor Polish :D

BTW, I was just going through a chapter in Hackett's The Third World War: Untold Story in which he spoke about the breakup of Czechoslovakia. He used "Czechia" there twice. The books is from before 1989, so it hardly could have been affected by any Czech preferences.

Therefore, the term seems to be attested in the English language.

Some lazy regions only require an adjective to be named. Eg Baltic ;)

I don't know, I always say "Baltic states" in English. In Czech it is easier - we call it Pobaltí (On-the-Baltic), it's a noun similar to "Nizozemí" (the Netherlands) or "Porýní" (Rhineland).

The Nazis killed 3+ million Poles. The Soviets: a few thousand. Clearly not pleasant, but what I'm seeing argued in this thread, as I have many times before whenever this subject comes up, is that the Poles would rather the Nazis have free-run over their entire country, instead of just 2/3, and that their treatment under the Nazis was preferable to the Soviet treatment.

And I'm the one accused of displaying criminal lunacy? :crazyeye:

Yeah, you're arguing a fool's point and pushing people like Domen to take the thread into an unwanted direction.

Take your "The Soviets are awesome and Poles should have gotten down on their knees and given them fellatio" nonsense elsewhere.

Can a mod split off the Russia versus Poland circle-jerk please?
Moderator Action: I've tried to identify all posts related to that discussion (without having to read them) and moved them to a new thread. The discussion of the Soviet invasion of Poland can be continued there, if anyone is still interested.

But this thread is about the Czech republic, not the Poles.

Btw, what do you think of possible union between Poland, Slovakia and Czechia?

I suggest an even more ambitious project - a Slavo-Hungaria:

Let's call it Eastern Europistan.

Eastern Europisstan better - but to be named like this, we would need to incorporate Romania and Grand Duchy as well.

BTW:

Please note that I granted Wannabe Macedonia to Megali Hellas. Both them and Greeks should be happy, I guess?

Why are the ports of Syracuse, Amalfi and Naples not in Byzantine hands in that map?
