D'Artagnan01: Low-level Training Day

<3000 gold for a space tech is Lada pricing for a Mercedes so good call on not selling to Hiawatha.

Three out of ten parts is not a serious rival, though, when we stand at seven out of ten.

Better start putting on that spacesuit, D'Artagnan

lurker's comment: Betcha Bede's taken more trips in space than anyone else on this board. I've enjoyed lurking. Good game and, as always, good training, Bede. :goodjob:

The save is the turn before.

War clouds boiled over the other continent by the last turn

It started with a request from Korea for a MPP. The very next turn Abe declared on the Koreans and the interlocking agreements started kicking in as trroops crossed the various borders. The very last to join were the Iroquois.

I had great fun with this game. Overcoming the pre-railroad shield shortage and the lack of native luxuries and resources were the two great challenges. I enjoy both, especially when it can be managed with limited warfare.

The commercial trait never ceases to intrigue me. With enough cash it is possible to overcome every obstacle. I don't think I have ever had such a surplus of cash in the bank before.

Look at these companion photos and tell me what conclusions you draw

There is a lesson buried there, one that explodes into smithereens a cherished Civ3 shibboleth.

Bede, I do want to thank you for taking the time to instruct us in the finer details of this game. This was my first C3C Space Victory. And is sure went different from what I expected. We did not grow nearly as large as I would have been comfortable with for a space victory, but we did it anyway!

Again, thank you for your time and your patience.

:salute:

:thanx:

Great game all! Thank you all, especially Bede for dedicating your time to help us into Alpha Centauri. This start certainly taught me that winning is feasible even when there are no strategic resources present during the crucial stages of the game.

:thanx: Bede, CB, Bucephalus, and the rest. :)

Look at the populations of those leading cities then look at the outputs of each.

What it is showing me is that population is not power. The real power is output per pop point.

And it has really been fun for me to watch the light bulbs going off all over.
