I think they went with less clues given that it's an alternate leader and not a whole Civ.
That is a clue of a different sort of itself...

Add me to the “I thought those were balloon transmitters” camp. Also, that peacock twerk!

Now, can we speculate to the ability of this indian leader whom I will never be able to spell the name so I can't even bother to try ?

Because an hability with roads seemed complicated to me. We already have Rome with automatic roads and Persia with better roads.
Maybe builders could use charges to build roads, even if it would be completely lame.

It could always be as simple as just gaining extra trade routes. Hopefully in addition to some other LUA perks.

Maybe trade route from Commercial district in addition to Marketplace since that rule has changed.

Remind me what Gandhi's ULA is?

Remind me what Gandhi's ULA is?
Civs get double war weariness for fighting against Gandhi. Receives faith from every civilization he meets that he is not at war with.

Does look like Chandragupta Maurya.
Mora or Mayura means Peacock in many Indian languages including Sanskrit and a legend here in India describes Chandragupta Maurya having been raised in a clan of Peacock tamers.

+5 faith per turn for each civ you've met that both founded a religion and is not at war. Double war weariness for those at war with you.

It's really boring, just like Gandhi.

Satyagraha. India gets +5 faith for every Civ with religion it has met and that is currently at peace. Countries in war against India get doubled war weariness.

Edit: Ninja'd :cringe:
At least you were more specific. Also forgot that they needed to at least found a religion.

So, something related to roads and/or trade routes. Perhaps the road for a trade route is insta-built when you start the trade route? Of course, that would mean you can start a trade route to a future enemy just before you declare, no need to plan ahead. :)

Edit: also wouldn't be surprised at some sort of bonus to land trade routes. But not sure what bonus would be most appropriate.

India's ability is Dharma: you get follower beliefs for any and all religions represented in a city.

Perhaps trade routes for Chandragupta speed religious conversion to make easier use of Dharma?

The bullock carts plying on the paved road in this teaser might be a reference to the Grand Trunk Road which was built during Chandragupta Maurya's reign. It is one of India's oldest roads and in ancient times connected it to the trading posts of the central Asian silk road.
So an ability related to trade routes or roads is likely for Chandragupta.

Maybe domestic routes grant an increased production of buildings/units/wonders beyond the flat bonus?

I think he’ll get a religious ability as part of it too, I just don’t see it in the tease

Maybe his ability will allow you to build roads with builders and and land units gain +3 combat strength on a tile with a road.

Or all units gain +1 movement when starting in friendly territory in addition to something else?

I like that idea!
I won't be hard to do that in the game, the policy is already there an can just be reused.

I'm actually more inclined to believe that the ability will be +1 movement to all units starting in friendly territory and double religious pressure from trade routes.

Leaks here ruin the teasers. I often have to avoid these forums until the teaser is tweeted.

I had a friend who had to go online and read up on the entire Star Wars plot before going to see the movie, then after watching said that he wasn't that impressed and nothing was very surprising. Kind of the same thing.

I guess I can expect less negative YouTube comments this time... Only to be disappointed for still not using the restricted mode.

Talking about Star Wars, I've only seen The Phantom Menace :mischief: I know, I'm a barbarian :P
