...and Downtown wonders "Who the Hell is Former Senator Gavel?"

Here, my friends, is the full story. The Republicans will have theirs next week.

Not a lot of cross-party sniping. Basically everybody said they would pull out of Iraq. A few of the more liberal members took potshots at the folks who voted for the war.

Also, Edwards, Obama and Clinton have apparently never lived in a home with a gun. The other 5, even ol' Dennis, apparently have. Just in case y'all cared.

Any thoughts?

Thats who I wonder as well. Who is this guy.

Then again, I said the same thing when the inexperianced Obama came into the lime light.

Hmm, thats pretty interesting, though not incredibly surprising. What are the stances on gun control for Edwards and Obama?

I'm disappointed I didn't hear about it until checking CNN.com tonight, after the thing had ended.

Was it advertised, and was it televised?

That sounds kind of boring actually. Did the audience have a hard time staying awake?
No need to be harsh on the Democrats now :).

I hate Democrats

That's actually part of the reason I moved to the UK: I didn't want the Democrats screwing me, my life, and my country over.

See you in 8 years or
a) Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton, and other Democrats have a....accident :mischief:
b)Obama admits he's gay
c)Democrat Party is destroyed
d) Other or
e) I don't come back :p

Nah, you moved there because your mommy and daddy did ;) :pat:

If it is any consolation, I'm a politics geek and spent 4 years living in Alaska, and even I didn't know who Mike Gravel is.

I'm not particularly surprised Clinton and Obama didn't grow up with a gun in their home if they were raised in Chicago, but Edwards? I thought he calls himself a southern boy... :dubious:

I remember seeing an advert on MSNBC that morning. I dunno if it was on TV...the Office was on that night, so there was no way I was switching.

I dunno, I didnt watch it. Even I need a few hours break from politics. No closing statements + canidates with no shot in hell getting equal time + No Al Sharpton = I'll do something else.

So....you don't like Democrats, so you went to live in Europe, where the political center of gravity is 10 steps to the left....in particular, the UK, controled by the Labor party...which is pretty close to the Democrats.

Good Job.

I hope you like Sharpton for the entertainment and not for his views.

It was so dry and boring and 'safe'. No one tripped up and they all followed the scripts and talking points perfectly. An absolute waste of time.

[pp] OMFG DID YOU SEE THEM FRIGEENA PWN TEH REPUBWICINS CUZ THEY WERE ALL SAYIN STUFF THAT WAS ALL LIKE SAYING HTAT THE BUSH ADMINISTRATIONS WAZ A NOT GOOD ADMINISTRASHUN HAHAHHAHAHA OMG DEMS '08 FA SHO[/pp]

Anywho, yeah I agree with MobBoss that debates are only cool when they get really nasty. I mean they didn't need a friggen debate to tell us they disapprove of the war!

I'm a current resident and didn't know who Mike Gravel was.

He was senator from 1969 to 1981, wiki says.

I think he'll win the Presidential Primaries, he has the Sanjaya factor!
