Did Clint Eastwood just define a generation?

Do you think 'The Pussy Generation' will stick?

KFC here is actually pretty tasty. Dunno why, maybe their animals don't get as much stuff. Certainly the chickens are smaller which is a good indicator of how much crap they get I'd assume.

The taste in KFC was mostly from the stuff they deep-fry around the meat, iirc. There isn't any KFC in this city.. :)

I think the worst food is in the US where the chicken is that tasteless. Europe is likely not that bad as their meat has more controls.

The pastas and veggies were good but I didn't get a single decent piece of meat on our spin through London in 2015. Doesn't mean it's not there, but does probably mean it was out of the price range I was going to cough up.

I'm going to guess the spicing varies more significantly than anything else when it comes to the flavor. Unless, of course, all of the "free range" "grass fed" stuff over here is actively lying and it's the same stuff. Which I don't think it is. I would much rather, if I'm going to actually get a steak(not my favorite), get a nice marbled corn-fed cut than a tougher grass-fed one.

This needs to be retitled to the "How to get the tastiest chicken" thread.

Haven't read the article, while he may be right, we also need to mention the millenials are the most moral generation, and best all around people. As time goes on, people do tend to get softer, but that also means they are kinder and have higher moral values. We no longer have gladiator fights to the death in the Coliseum. Does that make us *censored*? Maybe. But it also makes us better people.

I'm not a millenial, but generation x. We invented grunge and goth rock dammit. We were cool. It was cool to be depressed and cynical about the world. But I know personally I'm a better man than any baby boomer. Call me arrogant if you want, but I know I have high moral values... except for the arrogant part. :) And I admit millennials have higher moral values than me. My step daughters (or would that be former step daughters?) don't eat meat. Many millennials are vegans. I could never do it. I applaud them for their diligence to not eating meat. Not eating meat is more moral no matter how you feel about it. I love meat, and won't ever quit, but I know that I am taking sentient life to feed my stomach.

While I may make fun of you for living at home with mommy and daddy and going to college to take classes that tell white people how bad they are, I respect your moral values. The fact that rape culture is being properly shamed in today's world shows how much more in touch millenials are than the rest of us.

edit: And my generation also came out with rap and hip pop along with speed metal, death metal, black metal and many other metals along with the aforementioned grunge and goth rock. We simply kick millenials ass musically.

What's that? Its a baby boomer! "Get in my belly"

After enduring several years' worth of the vegan posters on the "Care2" social activism site (a mis-named site if ever there was one, since some pretty scammy behavior has come to light), you can't convince me that vegans are any more moral than anyone else.

Being told to kill myself (or having death wished upon me in a variety of disgusting ways) is really not a way that's going to convince me to join them.

I've pointed out that animals' habitat is lost when farmers' fields are cleared (one of the ongoing concerns in the Amazon area of our planet) and animals regularly get chewed up alive by combines and plows, but apparently that doesn't matter in the Almighty Pursuit Of Veggies!

And WTH do these people think is going to happen to all the livestock animals that currently exist, if people stop eating them? My lease specifies that I'm allowed to have up to 2 cats. I'm not going to adopt a cow, goat, or chickens (although some people are allowed to raise their own chickens here; personally I think it's a risky undertaking considering that there's a wildlife migration corridor running right through the middle of my city, and the Gaetz Lakes Wildlife Sanctuary isn't completely fenced off) because they're suddenly not going to be eaten.

And then there are the more zealous ones who insist that all animals are "enslaved" and must be "freed." Sorry, but my cats are my companions and surrogate children. They're not my slaves. I ask nothing from them other than companionship and that they not use anything for a litter box that isn't the actual litter box.

That said, I don't run out and eat every animal that comes along, either. After moving into the city, I could no longer see any reason to eat moose meat, for example. My dad used to go hunting every fall and would bring home a moose so we could have meat over the winter. But we lived a long way out of town back in the '60s, and there were times when we were basically snowed in and a shopping trip to town was out of the question (how time flies; the acreage where I grew up is now within the city limits, and they literally paved over my childhood home).

A lesson learned from the rotary hoe - if you think you might have hit it, don't look back to check.

They don't value value. These other people value value. Seeing as valuing value doesn't particularly have any value, value is for the young. Since somehow that isn't the same old value.

Or something like that.

Generation gap. That said, it must be pretty weird being a teen now, with the general collapse in the world, wars, Isis, EU fall, Trump and so on. Not the same climate we had as teens in the 90s when things seemed generally stable.

Interesting perspective. Humans (myself included) tend to look at the past with a bias towards the good memories. And people seem to think the present world has gone to *censored*. They were saying the same things in the 90's. You had the crack cocaine epidemic, fall of the Soviet Union (which while it did remove a potential threat, there was some chaos involved and we had no idea if all the nukes were accounted for), Oklahoma City bombing, rise of mass shootings in schools (U.S. only), the chemical attack in Japanese rail station, All the war and instability in Bosnia, Serbia, Kosovo, second rising of Islamic terrorism with OBL, Marilyn Manson (I'm kidding with this one), Rodney King race riots, Jeffrey Dahmer, heroin epidemic (admittedly it has come back again this year), and that's all I can think of right now.

People (liberals mostly) think 2016 is the worst year. I can understand they look back at the 90's fondly with Clinton in charge, although he was pretty moderate. The media (both HuffingtonPost and CNN0 has been portraying 2016 as a terrible year. Even things like Aleppo can't compared to hardships endured in war in WW2, WW1, Korea, or even Vietnam. War is still terrible, but things are better today than they have ever been in the past.

Some positives of 2016. Western economies are doing great. Despite what conservatives may say, economies under liberal leadership has been great. Some countries recovered better than others. ISIS is on its way down. We still haven't had any 9/11 style attacks in 15 years. Nice I think was 2015 not 2016, and while that was bad, it wasn't 9/11 style. U.S. granted marriage rights to everyone, and I believe a few other countries such as Ireland have as well. Despite war in Syria/Iraq, and unrest in Africa, the world has largely been at peace. Seriously the economy is on fire right now. Yes a bubble will surely form, but smart investors realize this and don't invest when it is overpriced (as it is right now).

People think Trump is the apocalypse and he is not. He marks the last time a Republican will be elected President (yes I know I said this before, but him losing the popular vote by 3 million votes is telling). There is only so much damage he can do. Yeah he has a big mouth on twitter, so what. China will not attack us, and Trump will not provoke China except with mere words which China is smart enough not to fall for. We'll be in more debt in 4 years, but our economy is strong enough to handle it.

"2016 is the worst year" is a meme that got out of hand, mind, rather than an actual claim about the relative worst-ness of years. Mostly, what people are expressing is that 2016 is an incomprehensible year, that this years flood of miserable events seems more disjointed and random than that of past years, which is probably incorrect, and probably says more about the volume and diversity of information that people are exposed to, but it's still a different claim.

I agree, 2016 wasn't too terrible. The one thing I really disliked about it was the lack of good albums. We did get a great Bowie, Nick Cave and a fantastic Swans album, but a lot of sucky and disappointing stuff as well.

I'd place some very good money on Paul Ryan being Pres in either 2024 or 2028. He's young and charismatic without being completely nuts, he's definitely smart enough.

2016? Kinda relaxing. Many dishes on the grittle but none ready to eat. A lot to be grateful for. A pleasant parenthesis.

^Not sure about the "charismatic" part. What is his charisma?

Charisma = attractiveness = votes (think Kennedy, 1960)

Also a bit about how well he carries himself to the general public etc.

Yup... had KFC here the other day and the legs were unusually large and tasted like flavorings. No real chicken taste, kind of disappointed. Might be shipping in from factories in the US these days.

Unfortunately for Mr. Ryan, "Completely nuts" seems to be his party's preference.
