DJNES: Gods of Anaroth (credits to Lord Iggy for coming up with concept of deities NES)

Introduction:

In the beginning, the universe was void and the Chaos filled the emptiness. The world was formless and dark, and nothing, yet everything was within. Eons had passed until the first came into existence from the Chaos: Elifer. Out of this darkness, for years and years, Elifer, the first of the gods, sorted out the Chaos into Cosmos called Anaroth, and from this new order, new gods emerged. This is the new Age of the Gods, where the deities rule the world as the mortals tremble at their mercy. They raise the mountains. They carve the oceans, and shape the sky; even master the fate of men. Now, the Gold Age has passed, and men started to take arms against each other, and the gods look down from Aeolus, the palace of the gods in Vel'Garath.

Rules:

Orders/Stories:
Much like SteamNES this is largely story based. There are stats, but they are rather simple. But for orders I will need you to basically sum up what your deity has done in the stories.

Interaction:
The deities can directly interact with other deities, mortals, monsters, etc. Also, they can change forms to look like humans, animals, etc. Think about Greek gods. Also, they can influence mortals to do things.

Nations:
There are mortal nations in this NES which you can directly (like go down there) or indirectly (prophets, heroes, etc) influence them. Also, when nations war against each other, the gods can take sides.

Initial Stats:
Name/Player:
Color:
God of: You can choose pretty much whatever within reason. Choose one, for sake of simplicity.
Location: Vel'Garath
Symbol: What you identify your deity with. (e.g. Zeus = Lightning, Eagle, etc)
Followers: Which mortals worship you.
Bio: Deity's story.

Map:
Spoiler :
Anaroth.png

Vel'Garath:
In the mortal tongue, it means the Island of Power. This is the island where Mount Aeolus stands above the land, where the gods live on top of the mountain. No mortal has ever dared to even approach this sacred island. Here, Elifer, the god of gods reign above all things; there is no war, no sickness, only peace and prosperity.

Telomari:
With its capital at Telarian, King Telis rule this nation of the west. Telomari is generally a flat plain with only a mountain near the capital where agriculture flourishes. They are peace loving people and good friends with Eyndolin.

Vesar:
One of the first nations of the world to be civilized. Vesari are very intelligent with its many scholars and such. They built the first temple to worship Elifer at a mountain called Lanquin Temple, where five high priests, called Ezrai, appease the gods. The capital is in city called Adorin, where King Hesod rule.

Eyndolin:
Another peace loving nation of the west. This nation has been in constant conflict with the land of Kel'Mara. They serve as protector of Telomari with its powerful military.

Kel'Mara:
Ruled by King Rezog, Kel'mara was ambitious enough to wage the first war since Creation. They also have strong military, and live very militaristic life, but their plans have been thwarted many times by Telomari-Eyndolin alliance.

Farrag:
This nation broke away fron Vesar long ago when many scholars were debating about the existence of deities. Many Farrag people do not believe in gods, where people of Vesar are very devout. Ruled by Chief Faron, they are at constant awareness of Vesar, but there has been no armed conflict.

Celmari, Mahan, and Kelmuth:
This nation used to be called Kamaran, under the rule of King Mari. Kamaran was well until, when King Mari died, the three brothers broke apart and formed individual nations after an uprising, all three to take over the throne. All three are fearful of each other, but their life style and most things are very similar.

Alright. That's the general idea. Any takers?

Will give this a try.

Bio: As the wars of men begun and magic was used to fight wars there was one type of magic that remained undefended, unguarded from the destructive nature of men. The people who trained their minds to make great feats of power were left alone and slaughtered nearly to extinction. Their abilities at start of training were weaker then other kinds of magic and only ones who trained for many many years could defend themselves. A man named Marok trained his mind for over 500 years before the wars begun. When they started he took to himself to protect the weak psi men. He built a giant castle fully out of purple rock and peaked his power to nearly reality warping ones. All his works did not go unnoticed and when the king of Vesar heard of the castle he sent assassins to kill the power Marok. 5 Assassins were needed for the job and the 5 never returned alive yet the work was done. Marok body laid down as the many psi men in the castle were afraid for their lives. Together they all wished for help as the god Psio was created out of all the psi powers in the world and out of Marok's psi energy that was released at his death. Psio sits in Marok's castle now in a chamber full of purple rocks. His powers are awesome and his current aim is the fall of Vesar.

Shoz

They say that, deep in the jungles around the Sea of Eyndolin, there is a great temple. Within it is a collection of all knowledge, unparalleled in the Mortal World. Some say that this place is the home of a god... others say it is his gift to humanity.

The mythic Library of Shoz is inscribed with its name in every language of, humans, animals and deities. Those who find it can feast upon the unlimited knowledge it offers. However, more often than not, observing the universe as it is drives them mad. Those who survive are typically those who seek only a small amount and leave- perhaps seeking a magical spell, the answers to their questions, or to attain wisdom and enlightenment. Others come to seek the knowledge of how to defeat their enemies, how to twist the world to their will. They may do as they please.

It is said that Shoz first appeared before the very first humans, who were little more than animals. Taking the form of a green serpent, he approached woman, offering her the fruits of knowledge. She accepted, and thus was woman blessed with wisdom, for she took it first, before sharing it with Man.

Throughout history, Shoz has guided the actions of many people. King Eydrel, a devotee who long ago ruled a great kingdom in the west, was renowned for his wisdom, and the creation of deadly metals in his weapons. However, when later kings abandoned Shoz for Longus, the thousand-headed serpent consumed the knowledge of these incredible metals from their heads.

Shoz, we are told, has myriad forms. In the stories I have heard, Shok has been... crawling creatures small and large, the aforementioned many-headed monster, a snake-headed man, a woman carrying a serpent... I imagine that the powers of a god really are unlimited, as is this. Perhaps my teacher was an incarnation of Shoz- though as I never really got along with the man, I hope this is not the case.

I remember a tale from my childhood where Shoz would watch people hunting the animals. Some cried out for help, so Shok taught them how to avoid the humans. He taught rodent how to hide, rabbit how to run, bird how to fly, and beast how to fight. It's said that the snakes, Shoz' representatives, can teach you their own clever little things when they feel like it. Unfortunately, snakes tend to bite those who interrupt their meditations, out of annoyance.

Snakes can be moody creatures. The same, I have noticed, is true for intellectuals. Although the intellectuals are more reserved in their biting.

This is just preview. So culture descriptions will come later, when the actual NES starts.

So we have 9 interested players. Do you think we have enough? I want 12 so we can have the full Pantheon. :D

@Iggy: Nice story!

Announcement: The Bio section will be removed, since people aren't taking it seriously and worse, god-modding (which is a big irony).

Just out of interest, am I allowed to change my diety to that of the god of socks please?
