It is the year 3220BC and the Egyptians find themselves well defended and in need of some scouting to perhaps find future sites to expand their empire. It is soon realized by the fledging empire that although our warriors are strong, our enemies possess stronger forces so any excursions are withheld until such time a stronger warrior can be trained.
The children are playing in the streets but our warriors watch closely for any warriors getting near our city. This does bring happiness to our city and there is a feeling of contentment and enlightenment.
In the training yard Master Shito says to the young man, when using the bow to strike your enemies from a distance aim for the heart so that the first strike is the deadliest blow. Young archer Bakari (meaning “noble oath”
answered yes master and lets go of the arrow and hits the target dead center. Excellent Bakari you are doing well, remember to stand with your right leg ahead of you so that you will appear as thin as a blade of grass. It will make it difficult for your enemy to see you. After you strike always move to another spot so as to confuse your enemy. Yes Master said the young archer and did have a knack for the art of archery.
Toshi sat back in her chair and asked that there be a towns meeting the next morning as she wanted to discuss with her people our future and the need to deal with our aggressive neighbours.
The people filled the streets and Toshi began to speak but noticed that it’s newest warrior ready to do battle was not there. She asked Master Shito where is Bakari, it is important that he be here as well since it does concern him. He has gone to the mountain to meditate early this morning but should have been back by now. Toshi began to worry that perhaps he was ambushed and already they have lost their “only hope”. Since the meeting was regarding Bakari she was about to postpone and go look for Bakari. As she was ready to speak Bakari come running into the town and Toshi felt much better seeing him.
Very well Bakari very glad to that you are here. Toshi begins to speak and before she can say two words young Bakari shouts out I have been visited by God on the mountain. Toshi a bit flustered being interrupted did stop and ask what did he say Bakari. Bakari looking to Toshi feeling shame for speaking out of turn, my humble apologies my Queen. Toshi please tell us what you were told by God. Bakari began to speak and was trembling and having difficulty getting out the words. He had said unto me that I must go on a quest to find friendly tribes that will aid us in our holy battles. He sayeth unto me fear not the heathens for they will strike not for fear of my wrath. You will find the land of milk and honey for our people so that they may one day build new cities. He then reached out to me and touched me. When He did this He said thou art a child of mine and chosen by God to lead great armies and my power will be with you at all times. Now go forth and speak to thy Queen and tell her of my commands. Yes my Lord.
Toshi just looked out and there was such silence that one get hear the wind gently stroking the leaves on the trees. When she looked up she saw an image in the clouds and it spoke to her. Send him out now and he will return with great knowledge. She acknowledge in her heart and could hear the voice within her. She then looked at Bakari and said go forth Bakari and seek the land of milk and honey.
The year 3100BC Bakari leaves and the city and many citizens cry to see him go for fear of not seeing him again. He reassures his future wife that he will return one day.
Bakari sets out and looks back on the city and prays that his people will be alright. He would rather see them better protected but felt that he must fulfill his destiny. Night fell and he camped out in a jungle and meditated feeling God’s presence and comfort. Morning came and he set out to journey further. In the distance he noticed a village and hoped it was friendly since friends are very hard to come by in these parts. He did notice in the distance too a black panther and was on a hill to see better and was prepared for him. The ferocious creature attacked and he prevailed without even one slight injury. He thought to himself this must be God’s work indeed. It was now time to move on and journey to the village. He saw people and they seemed a little alarmed by his presence but they looked more friendly as he got closer. A young woman greeted him and said welcome to Baku. Rest here for the night and dine with us. Bakari graciously accepted and sat at the fire with them. Whilst they ate he noticed they had tools unknown to him. The tribal leader asked him why do you look so puzzled young man? Bakari answered: “what strange manner of tools you have, I have never seen them before”. The leader answers oh have your people not learned the ways of smelting metal? Bakari answers well I am a of warrior class and know not much of what you speak. The tribal leader looks to him and says we have been visited by God and he told us that you would need our help, now we know what it is that you need help with. The leader waves and several individuals arrives with scrolls and says to Bakari take these back to your people so that they will know the ways of smelting. Bakari is thankful and shakes the hand of the leader. Now rest with my daughter this evening and give us a child who one day come to your lands and join your tribes. Bakari already spoken for, feels that such a gesture by the leader certainly could not be turned down and accepts.
The leader’s daughter is quite stunningly beautiful and is overwhelmed by her. A night of passion ensues. The morning comes once again and Bakari takes his leave and again thanks these kind and friendly peoples:
Bakari decides to look around a bit more in hopes of finding more peoples.
Meanwhile back at the city a “builder” is in progress and should be able begin to work the lands upon Bakari’s return. Toshi although not suited to her values invokes slavery so as to speed up the progress of her fledging empire.
In the year 2930 Master Shito finds a way to use horses and attach them to chariots which can be built with wood.
Bakari arrives back at the city and there is great celebration. Toshi looks at the scrolls and my goodness you have brought us great knowledge as the prophecy has foretold. Well done my young warrior, you will one day lead our armies to smite our enemies.
The builder now sets out for a hill to build a mine and is accompanied by Bakari for protection. He choose this as we have enough food and need to build our units faster. The city is now training another archer so that when we are ready to embark on a new city our archer can accompany him. For now says Toshi we must bide our time until we can expand.
Master Shito is greatly excited to see that we have horses nearby our capitol and is torn by which area we need to build a city first.
Our luck has changed for the better already having a great site to the southeast which I believe we should settle first for the gems and horses. We are now learning the art of smelting iron in hopes iron maybe in our fat cross.
Go forth next warrior and make us proud
EDIT: can we please change the name of the save. Why do I say that. Well let's say I had a panic attack thinking I forgot to save it which I NEVER do. But when you look for the Golden general it isn't forthcoming and realized it was named some guy name cablesomething. (mmmm golden crackers)
Ok just whining but great start and wow copper/horses/two gems right near our capitol. Ok so it's queen cabledawg then I guess but that doesn't sound right. Is there some meaning in the 313131.
Also marked possible city sites too but the copper one in hindsight maybe should be one north on the hill to catch the grapes.
