I thought I was wrong once, but I was just mistaken.

I was wrong about Stryker, and previous positions on battleships utility in modern warfare were written from the perspective of someone who had studied a bit on the matter, but then went on to study a lot more.
Mmmm...bop. There are many examples of where people can be mistaken. One once regarded Dumb Pothead differently, but ever since his lobotomy and pectoral implants, that has changed.

There should have been a "rarely" option in the poll.
I sometimes admit i am wrong. When i don't want to admit it i just divert the subject a bit or take it into EXTREME details that don't have any connection the the main idea.
Usually when i do this the person who was right is either convinced that he is wrong (even though i realised he is right) because he thinks that i know what i am talking about, or he is completley dazed and confused and just drops the subject. :D

But let's not forget i sometimes admit i am wrong. :D

yeah but admitting your wrong seems to be a distant cousin - who you barely remember who comes to familly partys once in a blue moon but you wouldn't recognise if you saw him again - to success. People think of it that way, but I supose humility in the face of defeat is more respected than denial so call it a friend to success maybe? Some people are too stubborn, swallow your pride it wont kill you to admit your wrong once in a while will it :D

If putting the wrong words in a confusing or less than factual order is considered a typo, then most of my posting errors have been typos. ;)

All the rest I blame on our cat. She thinks keyboards are for lying on (with?).

I have been corrected many times.

If I'm actually convinced that I was wrong, then sure, I'll admit it. The problem comes in when someone says that I'm wrong, but their argument isn't convincing to me, then they just claim I'm being stubborn. (Which I probably am, but not because I don't want to admit I'm wrong - I just don't think I am ;) )

Yes, I have been wrong about things at times. And if I am, I'll usually admit it, or just remember never to talk about that subject again.

Of course I admit that I am/was wrong. What kind of sad excuse for a human being do you think I am? One thing to ensure this kind of humility is to not post while basing my opinions merely on ideology like so many posters do. That way, I don't paint myself into a corner like others who'd rather stay wrong (but loyal to their ideology/political affiliation) than admit the faults of their train of thoughts. That's pathetic.

I am not God, therefore I can be wrong about anything. I don't think the reason people rarely admit they're wrong is not because of pride but because they're so sure they're right.

I admit that I have been wrong. I don't really know a person who doesn't think I am. Even my friends think I'm a little weird and wrong. But I make mistakes, I'm human.

That's generally because of the conceit that there argument must be right. Pride pretty much. People are like this generally some more conceited than others, but it's a good rule of thumb.

con·ceit

1. A favorable and especially unduly high opinion of one's own abilities or worth.

Need I say more.:)

I am wrong from time to time. I will admit it when I feel I made a mistake and the opposing side of the debate has made enough valid points to rule my viewpoint as either irrelevant or unimportant. Sometimes even straight up just wrong.

Sure, i'm just as fallible as anyone else.
