I voted for the following:

- Manmade global warming - We are affecting climate, yes
- Theory of Evolution - The only explanation we have for the diversity of life on this planet
- Big Bang Theory - 50/50 but I checked the box. It's got a lot of uncertainties and will likely be replaced and/or a lot different in 200 years, but it's a decent enough model
- Alien lifeforms - I think it's improbable that life arising is so improbable that it would only have happened once, given the size of the universe
- Intelligent Aliens - Who knows, but given the size of the universe and my previous answer I will -have to vote for this as well.
- Man landing on the moon
- UFO(s) in Roswell - Hey, technically there was an unidentified flying object there. I had to vote for it even though I don't believe that it was intelligent aliens from another planet.
- Extinction of the Human Race - Logically speaking, this is probably going to happen at some point or another.
- Love after love

Everything else is heresay and/or BS ;)

Just for clarification, I voted for manmade global warming because I do think mankind has the ability to intentionally warm the earth if we so chose to so. So basically voted it for in the same spirit as I did interstellar migration.

God - Yes. I'm told almost every other week that the evidence is overwhelming.

Heaven - Yes, but I probably won't be going there.

Hell - I don't know.

Young Earth Creationism - I don't know. Probably not I guess from the evidence. Science says no, but nearly everyone I know says that scientists are liars who want to destroy our way of life.

The Biblical Flood - The same thing as above.

The Rapture - I don't know.

Biblical Prophecies - I'm told they happen all the time, but I don't know.

Other Prophecies - I guess it depends. I think most of the time prophecies are either wrong or made up.

Manmade Global Warming - I'm told that global warming, along with air pollution, is a conspiracy made by scientists so they can scam money. Every time I try to find out about it, I'm told that I'm an idiot.

Theory of Evolution - From my own observation and research, I would like to think it's true, but I'm told by everyone that it's another scientific lie, this one worse because it's the basis behind how Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union worked.

Big Bang Theory - I don't know. I guess I'll be told this one is another lie.

Theory of Gravity - I don't know. Probably, but I haven't been told if it conflicts with the Christian way of life.

Alien lifeforms - I don't know.

Bigfoot - I don't know.

Communicating with dead people through mediums - I think that was proven to be a hoax.

Tarot Reading - No. I read somewhere that the cards were originally created as a game.

Man landing on the Moon - Yes. What I read about the hoaxes seem more like a misunderstanding of the evidence.

Extinction of the Human Race - I don't know. Sometimes it seems inevitable.

Interstellar Migration - I don't know. Probably won't happen.

Love after Love - I don't know. Sometimes it seems like love doesn't exist, then I'm told that God is love.

Those are some very interesting answers there, Chukchi. Were you brought up in some kind of Christian sect?

Tarot reading is, ostensibly, divination using a tarot pack of cards. But may have some psychological significance too.

Something like that. It's the only kind of social setting I've ever had, except for when I was in school, and the only time that I ever leave the house, except for walking the dog.

You're a very interesting person altogether, Chukchi. If you don't mind me saying.

Your error was making a multiple choice poll without limiting the number of options compelling me to vote for everything.

I voted yes to:

Manmade global warming

- should actually be phrased as manmade climate change, since not everywhere is getting warmer. Some places will get cooler.

Theory of Evolution
Big Bang Theory
Theory of Gravity
Alien lifeforms
Intelligent Aliens
Man landing on the moon
Interstellar Migration of Human race

Oh dear, I hope I don't need to have to draw conclusions from these results. I don't think these things through. :(
Hey, you made the thread, and we took time out of our incredibly busy lives to give you data - you owe us some results from your survey! :scan:

THIS JUST IN!!!

I just received this message on my tinfoil hat:

Do not answer this poll, Ziggy is in league with the aliens and they are storing this data in order to analyze how likely it is they will be believed when they "Come in Peace"...

Dang, that was a good show! I had such crushes on Kyle and Charles!

Is that man holding a video camera or a rocket launcher?

Is it both?

Will we fight back against the aliens with explosive tapes of Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian?

You've got me sold, if so.
*sigh* youngsters these days, with no appreciation for good SF... :(

The man is Mike Donovan, and he's holding a video camera. He was the first person to get proof of what the supposedly benevolent Visitors really were.

Ah, okay. I figured it was a show of some sort. If it's worth anything, I don't know 99% of current day television shows either!

Alright, alright.

My conclusion is that you guys make sense.

The number of people that voted they accept the Theory of Gravity is equal to the number of people who accept we landed on the moon. Which makes sense if you think about it :)

Assuming that most people took this poll seriously, does that mean that people who voted for the Theory of Gravity are no longer allowed to sneer at evolution by saying "it's only a theory"?

Most obvious to CFC-OT (85% and higher):

Man landing on the moon 90.54%
Theory of Gravity 90.54%
Theory of Evolution 89.19%
Big Bang Theory 87.84%

Least Obvious to CFC-OT (15% and lower):

The Biblical flood 10.81%
Communicating with dead people through mediums 6.76%
Young Earth Creationism 6.76%
Intelligent Aliens visiting Earth 5.41%
Other prophecies (Nostradamus) 5.41%
The Rapture 5.41%
Bigfoot 4.05%
Tarrot reading 4.05%
UFO(s) in Roswell 4.05%

Most diverse opinions on CFC-OT (40-60%):

Intelligent Aliens 56.76%
Interstellar Migration of Human race 43.24%
Love after love 40.54%

Inaccurate Distribution:
Grouped into vaguely far-fetched similar denominations now with 68.7% more inaccuracies, bad comparisons and frankly abysmal scientific quality. A better person would have thoughts these through so they could have been grouped more comfortably. I am not a better person than I am, so dear reader, sucks to be you at this point.

On average
87.50% of CFC-OT swallows Scientific theories (Theory of Gravity,Theory of Evolution, Big Bang Theory, Manmade global warming)
53.04% of CFC-OT engages in Sciency crystal balling (Alien lifeforms, Intelligent Aliens, Interstellar Migration of Human race, Extinction of the Human Race)
16.60% of CFC-OT subscribes to Biblical stuff (God, Heaven, Hell, Biblical Prophecies, The Biblical flood, Young Earth Creationism, The Rapture)
4.96% of CFC-OT lives in the wonderful weird world of wombattery (Communicating with dead people through mediums, Intelligent Aliens visiting Earth, Other prophecies (Nostradamus), Bigfoot, Tarot reading, UFO(s) in Roswell)
40.54% of CFC-OT is gay (That crazy little thing called latency)
9.46% of CFC-OT forgot to check the landing on the moon checkbox
100% of CFC-OT objects to pillocks making polls, only a few verbalize their complaints.
8% of CFC-OT has short term memory loss baby (None of the above)

You asked for a conclusion, well, there's a lot of them. Your fault you didn't ask for an accurate one :)
