"When I was your age, we didn't have television, we only had the radio." :old:

I for one love the radio. (avatar) Not driving music radio, actual talk and entertainment shows. Because the audience is so limited (but devoted), the quality is much higher than TV.

Satilite radio is also very popular now. I've never tried it, I don't doubt that it's great, but I also believe in supporting local stations.

It might seem like there's no reason to use this antiqated form of entertainment when the internet, tv, and so many other easier ways to whittle away your time. But I hope this medium continues to live and thrive.

I listen to music, but I loathe talk radio. I don't care if I agree with anything Sean Hannity is saying - he's still obnoxious to listen to.

When I was little, though, I used to listen to Old Time Radio stories on tape - the Shadow, Philip Marlow, Suspense, Inner Sanctum Mysteries, etc. I still have those, and occasionally I'll pop one in and listen to a favorite from way back in the day. Good stuff. They don't play those on the actual radio anymore, though.

AM talk-radio. :old:

 Somebody gets it! Most AM stations are talk, (because of the quality) but it's usually political or religious. Not much fun.

I generally do not like the radio but there is a certain talk show i enjoy. Compared with the television there is far more time for the hosts and his guest to explore the subject. Due to the radio's nature there is more likelihood to hear more unconventional opinions that are not a result of trying to impress. In general the radio offers the advantage of having a less consumerism culture in regard to certain talk shows.

I am a degenerate sports talk radio fan.

Oh yes. We don't have TV, actually, so... :)

In the car, it's music, and classical music to avoid bad singing.

WE mornings, it's NPR. For some strange reason, I find Car Talk fascinating...

Sean Hannity's a real nut. That dope's still afraid of communists. Anyway, he's not the only one in talk radio.

Wow, if I could have been around then. Do not fear! There are a few stations that play old shows (and new originals in the same style), especially college radio. Check around, and you might be pleasantly surprised.

Although I mostly switch between airamerica and the local conservative station, on rare occasion I listen to the religious stuff too (if I stumble upon it in a scan). If it is a preacher that has a positive message and speaks well with passion, I'll listen till it gets to the god/jesus stuff.

Click and Clack are quite the characters! Maybe you're a long lost relative of pikup and dropov's.

Well, good for you. I tend to stay away from those kinds of shows though. To me, radio's audience is too small as it is, and I don't think we can afford to exclude anyone.

I pretty much grew up listening to NPR.

I do like to listen to NPR every now and then but my listening time has definitely decreased.

Yes, it introduces me to new music.

Never.

Yes, it introduces me to new music.

But new music is awful :old:

Nothing but crybaby rock, crappy rap, and pop that you cannot tell if it is a commercial jingle or a song.

Are you a masochist?

Only when driving. Rarely anything decent on. I'm getting annoyed with Radio 1 and their 30 minutes of random waffle followed by a song. When I'm driving I want to listen to music, not a couple of people talking about what they did last weekend, or whatever.

all the time.............EVERY DAY!!1
