Wristwatches were invented in the first place because people were tired of having to pull their pocket watches out to check the time.

Are you saying that humanity will invent a watch-phone soon?

I didn't wear one regularly until I started college. After getting a cellphone (3+ years later) I started relying on it for the time, but I've since grown disenchanted with cellphones and am thus interested in getting a watch. Right now I have my eye on a particular model, but I keep spending my leisure money on books.

I only wear my watch when I'm someplace without clocks or phone service.

I used to from grade school through first year of grad school, but then I simultaneously broke my Timex's watch band and it's battery ran out. Never fixed it, so now I just use my cell phone.

No, I have a cellphone, so I don't need one. And I don't really care about status symbols, screw that. I'm cool and if you don't realize that, too bad.

I only wear a watch on my trips - I have an expedition style watch with a compass, altimeter, etc.

If I'm dressed nice, I wear a nice watch as an accessory.

If I'm doing something where timing is important, I wear a watch.

Otherwise, no watch. I also hate clocks - I don't have any visible clocks around me - I've hidden the clocks on all my computers, and organize my life by setting alarms in advance (synced between my phone and computers), so I don't need to check the time.

I wear one maybe seven days a year.

Sometimes on weekends and special occasions.

I don't usually carry a cell phone (makes you look like a servant on an electronic leash), so a watch is useful.

Isn't all fashion cyclical?

When I was 16 I bought one of thos Casio watches as a female friend recommended it PLUS the Taliban used it! So I wore it for a few years. I managed to get it from Amazon for about £4 which I think is quite decent value, it looks brilliant, you can get a lot of utility out it, stopwatch, tells the time and more! The main draw was because it was quite stylish. Haven't worn it for 2 years though!

Forbidden at work and I'd be too annoyed by putting it on and off all the time. So no.

I've never worn a watch. I had one in the early 1990s, but didn't wear it.

I always wear one.

I haven't worn one since high school. Don't remember if that means I haven't worn one since I've been a member of CFC or not, but it's certainly possible. Instead I use my cell phone for time. Although recently I've quit taking my cell phone to work, too, because the reception is quite poor. But there's enough clocks around that I don't really need it for that.

Maybe I'll switch to a purely mechanical pocket watch next month, just to be old-fashioned.

Buy a monocle to go along with it, and grow out a handlebar mustache. Make sure you "harumph!" loudly when people ask you to do things.
