Is this untrue in Wild Mana?

Quite possibly: WM's version of the Scions is a little different from the others. I'm not clear on exactly what was left out, and the 'pedia wasn't 100% updated. A lot of outdated entries were caught and corrected, but that's probably one that wasn't. K.t.R. underwent some nerfs, so it's not unlikely she lost her Immortality.

Hehe ... well I guess its some-what fitting. I remember taking over the world with Korrina in early versions of Scions ... felt kind of "meh" :D

Also, the Grigori heroes researching "lairs" at libraries ... seems to do nothing. I did it 20 times during an SP game to no effect.

It places a new dungeon somewhere on the map. The effect isn't always obivious as it doesn't necceserily place it in your territory.

so it rly does work as of 8.0?

I'm unable to download Wildmana 8.0, I'm getting continuous corruption messages.

sephi is not here at the moment, so he can't fix it right now. you can try the beta version or wait until he returns.

If K.t.R. dies, she's gone for good in Wildmana. There are also no creepers, and the haunted land spread was nerfed. (IIRC about all of those - it's been a while since i've played Wildmana)

afaik creepers were put back in, haunted lands spread is highly dependent on nature mana and haunts (the hunter uu). further more the druid uu has a spell that haunts quite a large area.

Missing Unit?

I thought it was in a version of wildmana I saw this in ... but I'm looking for an Axeman UU called "Orc Conscript"

If I remember its stats correctly, it was +20% attack and -40% defense. And caused no War Weariness upon death.

Am I remembering this Correctly? Do you know which modmod has or had this unit? It's driving me crazy. :D

Moin,

the orc conscript is a unit available for the jotnar civ. When I remember right you need cartography, bronze working (barracks) and warfare to build them.

And yes, I think that's true: "If I remember its stats correctly, it was +20% attack and -40% defense. And caused no War Weariness upon death."

Greez,

Tschuggi

thanks. They also have no War Weariness upon death correct?

Does Council of Esus block Chalid? (please say yes) :please:

in wildmana 8.x it blocks a ton of spells, don't know about chalid though. you always have to consider that if you switch to CoE most of your disciple units will die.

you can't join the cult of Esus with empy as a state religion. it also block construction of the higher tier religious hero for religions that have 2, like yvain, sphener, hemah etc.

Interesting; i've never seen them in all my games. Maybe they are back for 9.0? I never really missed them, to be honest. The Scions have such a strong early game that you hardly need them as free scouts, and later on they just add busywork.

I never really missed them, to be honest.

Creepers (and HL generation) were considerably re-designed. Spawning depends on Life and Nature mana, so they should be more dependent on player strategy. (That's assuming Life and Nature nodes are uncommon Scion choices.) They can always either spread HL or destroy an agricultural improvement, so they should be more potent and important. They're intended as a major part of how Haunted Lands spread, with automatic spread turned down from previous levels. And fewer Creepers: There's a semi-hard limit on their #s: They stop spawning if there are more of them than Ghostwalkers.

A Creeper/Haunted Lands-centric strategy with many Ghostwalkers, Life and Nature nodes should still see a lot of them. Relatively speaking. But presumably the player following such a strategy will be glad to see them.

(That's how they are in the ~8.3 code I wrote, so not "official". And I'd guess it was never distributed simply because it was posted so shortly before the big push for 9.0. OTOH Sephi did say some AI was written for them, which I think awesome. Hmm... I really need to get some home improvement work done *before* 9.0 is released.)

Also: Gekko - *Still* Seyda Neen? Scared? You know there's a Strider stop on the nearby hill, right?

That sounds excellent, Tarquelne. Having never played FF, i first came across them in RifE, where they spawned by the truckload during the endgame. I have to say the Scions are really awesome now, with so many possible strategies.
