Enhanced User Interface v1.30m

Tried rc1 last night - no problems. The vanilla mouse-over great person actions bug is probably fixed; worked OK for the only GP I generated, but wasn't one of the GP types where I had seen the bug before.

Very few comments about 1.16RC1 - will suppose this means it works and release Version 1.16 (May 13th, 2014) with the following updates:
  • Fixes minor bugs found in v1.15
  • Features new city queue mechanisms:
    • items may be added directly to production queue if not dimmed: left click = end of queue, ctrl + left click = top of queue, shift + left click = replace entire queue, right click = pedia
    • items may be purchased directly (e.g. great people), if the relevant purchase button (faith or gold) is displayed and not disabled (insufficient funds)
    • production queue items may be shuffled around by dragging (like in 1.15)
    • production queue may have more than 6 items, but the elevator is the only way to scroll the list (mouse scroll wheel does not work)
  • NotificationPanel: bundle notifications together by type when civilization ribbon is displayed, to reduce clutter on right side of screen. This means each notification icon may correspond to several notifications, and you need to click to cycle through bundled notifications to see each one. Clicking on a notification icon may also jump to the appropriate location on the map, this location corresponds to the next cycled notification.
  • Compatibility with Communitas Expansion Pack: work around GameInfo.Yields() iterator broken by Communitas
  • PlotHelp: unit strength in red when decreased due to lacking strategic resource

Hi there. I just installed this mod yesterday and tried it out for the first time. Its fantastic, except the "notification ribbon" doesn't appear at all for me. Yes, I do have the single player score list UNchecked. It was actually unchecked by default already. But I get no notifications whatsoever now. There's nothing along the right edge of the screen.
Also, there is no border expansion audio.

What makes this really disappointing is that I can't get the notifications to work even if I turn ON the single player score list. So no notifications no matter what I do, unless I uninstall the mod, which is frustrating now because I really love the UI.

I'm using a Steam copy of BNW which is up to date.
I have no other mods installed.
I downloaded the mod from here.

Your snapshot does show that EUI's NotificationPanel.lua script is not running (so the options have no effect), but not why.
Something in your game install may not be as advertised: either the game is not up to date, or some kind of mod is installed which conflicts with EUI.
And please note I am no magician: when reporting problems like these, please at least include your Lua.log (see instructions in OP)
Cheers

First time trying the mod... fine work all around :)

A couple of quick observations...

- Zooming doesn't seem to work in city view. Is this a known issue or just on my side?

- Have you thought or tried to implement a dark, transparent background behind the right vertical civ ribbon (similar to the score list)? The icons and text have a tendency to get lost against the map background.

Great stuff.

Thanks for replying. I checked lua.log and all it says is this:
Code:
[14091.406] Initializing Lua 5.1.4

Pretty sure the game is up to date, as its all Steam and I think that's done automatically. I looked around and I don't see controls to initiate an update.

As for other mods, well I have several which I have subscribed to but all of them are disabled. So I load up the game and go straight to Single Player and start fresh. No dice.

Shouldn't that lua.log file have a bit more in it than the one line?

Woot! Looks great.

You know its rather interesting this bug got caught at all, since my laptop doesn't have a touch screen. But it has Windows 8, so I chose the Windows 8 option in the launcher in case that version was optimized for W8 even without touch functionality.

Love your use of mouseovers (like in this screenshot). They're all awesome. Firaxis should really implement your ideas in a patch.

the city queue looks amazing. congrats!

Oh and btw, clicking on the bundled notifications really slows down my game for a sec or two, is this supposed to happen or is it just me?

Cheers

When clicking the options menu from within game (main menu or in actual game) I get nothing but a blank menu screen and the game stops working right. The buttons are there and make the clicking sound, but don't do anything and I have to kill the process.

Anyway, I've attached my lua.log and I appreciate any help :)

It's not supposed to, might be useful to take a look at your Lua.log (see OP for instructions)

Your log shows missing game functions... Are you sure your game is up to date ? Might also be a corrupt install.

Cheers

Hello! I'd like to try this, but there is no such thing as a UI-bc1 folder anywhere in my directory as you can see in the attachment:

I can see hidden files too, and I've tried looking around in the sub folders of DLC, but found no UI-bc1 folder anywhere. My only guess is that it's the shared folder?

I haven't renamed anything in that folder either, I'm sure of it.

EDIT : Comparing the files found in the UI_bc1 I downloaded, there is no folder that seem to match =/.

Ooh, ooh, I can help! *clears throat* Ahem...

To make such awesome features as removing the "ok" screen at startup, the super-super amazing Enhanced User Interface mod has transcended time and space, because it itself a higher form of modification: the glorious DLC. But this is by no means a replacement for some mysteriously absent, "Firaxis" DLC. No, it is the complete package! Simply copy the UI_bc1 folder into your .../Assets/DLC folder and there you have it! No more wondering about how you're going to avoid the OK and you start your game, with this amazing invention!

bc1 Inc. reserves the right to make unnecessarily complicated changes at any time. DLC content is not guaranteed to work, however 7/10 doctors recommend it. This synopsis is toxic to humans and several species of fruit bat. If contact is made with eyes, please flush eyes with water promptly or contact a poison control center immediately.

:D You don't have to replace any files, the ui_bc1 is something completely new all it's own, and simply place it in your DLC folder and you're good to go! Also, welcome to the boards!
