How do they define "homosexual experience"? I mean, watching the Eurovision Song Contest can be regarded as having a homosexual experience!

In an ocean of bubble-gum pop it is always nice with an ethnic touch to a song. The song is not in my taste but I have to give it an ok, I guess. The part of the lyrics I could understand was terrible though.

In the context of the survey, it was very much sexual.:groucho:

I like how the guitar sounds. The music is quite good for Eurovision. The lyrics are stupid, but hey, there are loads of stupid lyrics around. They want to gain the sympathy and votes of the jury by singing in tongues, but then some countries might not vote them because their language is not used in the song.

I don't like how the song ends, though.

This year's choice by Greece was worse even from older times. Typically something crawling inside the sewer gets to be sent, musically wise, but at least previously it was the best selling one in that genre. Now someone quasi-uknown was sent :/

Nothing will ever top this 2002 entry though :

Too fast for me. "Regime fanatique" and all I get.

But anyway, I think we have a winner here. I love it :goodjob:

Whoa, I'm surprised. Well, very good then. :) I actually hate the ending too. It's not as stupid as the other ones, I agree.

But yes, the lyrics are stupid:
    Spoiler :
    [English]
Everywhere around the world, "I love you", it means the same
Every day and every night only you can touch my flame
So take my heart, take my soul, everything of me
Everywhere you go, my baby, even Italy

Chaque jour, chaque nuit, toi, tu reste ma seule rose

    [Romanian]
Undeva cineva te iubeste, nu uita
Spune da, iubita mea, stii cum e cu dragostea
Oriunde ai fi, oricat ai sta, te voi astepta
Inima spune ea, aicï e casa ta

    [International]
Everywhere around the world, "io ti amo" è sempre uguale
Cada dia y cada noche,
Prends mon coeur, prends mon âme, ma vie, ma chérie
Inima spune ea, aicï e casa ta (Ho... hey, hey)

Everywhere around the world, "io ti amo" è sempre uguale (Hey)
(Hey)
Prends mon coeur, prends mon âme, ma vie, ma chérie (Hey)
Inima spune ea, aicï e casa ta (Hey)

    ¡Ole! ¡Arriba! (Hey)
    Locomondo (Hey)
    Everybody, viva l'amore (Hey)
    Sing with me baby,
    Hop si-asa (Hey)

    Which means:
    Spoiler :

Everywhere around the world "I love you" it means the same
Every day and every night only you can touch my flame
So, take my heart, take my soul, everything of me
Everywhere you go, my baby, even Italy.

You do not need to be special, "I love you" is always the same
You can say it as you like it, either alone or with your folks
And here there are no frontiers, love is boundless,
In the city or in the countryside, it's the same in Spain.

For the whole world, "I love you" is the same,
Every day and every night, it's only you who gives me love (c'mon)
Here is my soul I 'm giving it to you, everything that I am,
If you leave, I'll search for you in Russia.

Somewhere there, somebody loves you, don't forget,
Say "yes", my darling, and love me.
Wherever you are, wherever you might go,
I'll be waiting for you, my love, now and forever.

My dear, in the whole world, "I love you" is the same
Every day, every night, you are my only rose,
Take my heart, take my soul, my life, my darling,
Call me, wherever you are, even in Romania.

Somewhere, somebody loves you, don't forget it,
Say "yes", my love, you know what love is about
Wherever you are, no matter for how long
    I'll be waiting for you
My heart tells me here is your home.

    Everywhere around the world,
"I love you" is always the same
    Every day and every night
    Love me, love me,
Take my heart, take my soul, my life, my darling,
My heart tells me here is your home.

    Spoiler :

Push the Button

The world is full of terror
    If someone makes an error
He’s gonna blow us up to biddy biddy kingdom come
There are some crazy rulers they hide and try to fool us
With demonic, technologic willingness to harm

    They’re gonna push the button
push the button push the bu push the bu push the button

    Translation:
    There is so much suffering
The streets are filled with violence
    How very lucky we are
To have survived this far without even getting injured
    As this fanatical regime
    Gets more tactical
    A tragic situation that
    my eyes with tears

    end of translation
And I don’t want to die
I want to see the flowers bloom
Don’t want a go capoot ka boom
And I don’t want to cry
I wanna have a lot of fun
    Just sitting in the sun

    But nevertheless

    He’s gonna push the button
push the button push the bu push the bu push the button

    [Translation of the Hebrew:]

Messages are blowing up on me,
Missiles are flying and falling on me,
Cops and robbers running around on me,
And they're jumping on me, bothering me.
My god, my god, answer me god,
    This nightmare is too long,
When I am barely alive and everybody is aiming at me it might be too soon to sing,
That I gave you my life.
    Wee Wee - the police,
    Weeoo Weeoo - rescue team,
Here it is in the Kdam (the pre-Eurovision contest) a song without Salam (peace in Arabic).
Red is not just a color, it's more like blood, [reference to kassam attack codename "red color"]
    Stopping my breath again,
So my soul won't pop out,
Here is war, here is the soul [or: here is war, here is a resuscitation]
Boom boom this is what is happening now,
Between rocket and machete, between viewer and reporter,
Between underhanded opportunism and kidnapping, between rain and drought [reference to ******** codenames for operation launced after soldiers were kidnapped]
Escalation rises up the stairs and takes a (front) line.
    Nothing is what everybody does.
Extremists getting more extreme and officers acting serious,
The naive turn to moderation and wait for information
And answer that everyone is helpless.

A world full of demons, and we are only pawns,
And champions with poker chips decide what will be.
Things are run slowly, a ship full of water,
And everybody is drinking l'chaim, drowning next to each other.

Maybe this is too blunt, maybe we should sing about palm trees, [reference to previous israeli eurovision song]
Sing about a desert without flags. [another previous israeli eurovision song]
I'm still alive alive alive, and if it continues to be frightening,
    Only then will I say:

[End of translation, the rest is in English originally]

    I’m gonna push the button
push the button push the bu push the bu push the button

I'm eagerly waiting for some more scandals (or "scandals") to surface. So far it has been pretty quiet.
Never mind the songs, as long as the show is good.:)

After long consideration (not really) I have decided to cast my vote as follows:

Beats & Styles - See the signs !Warning! this is truly horrible! Somebody kill me please! :suicide:

Humane - Plane away No, run away! :run:

Laura - Take a chance Un point

Katra - Tietäjä Deux points. I tried to imagine this song with a decent singer. The music isn't all that bad.

Thunderstone - Face in the mirror Trois points

Lovex - Anyone, anymore Quatre points

Kentala - Left my heart behind Cinq points. Anyone here on this forum could've sung this song better. What waste!

Jan Wilde & Rose Avenue - Rock&roll dreams Six points

Jani & Jetsetters - Musta sulhanen Sept points

Johanna Kurkela - Olet uneni kaunein Huit points. I'm sorry Johanna, but nothing is going to happen with that guy, even when sitting on top of him in a bed.

Jukka Kuoppamäki - Levitä siivet Dix points

Hanna Pakarinen - Leave me alone Douze points. This is the only song that escapes the waste bin, and I actually think it's quite good. :)

EDIT: Links to the songs are in Rheinmetall's post on page five.

I really need an explanation to this! Unless they are sarcastic points.:)
For more Jukka-torture, see the song that wasn't chosen to the Finnish final:Pikajuna. Unfortunately, some of the horridness is lost if you don't understand the words... really terrible crap about a train going by blablabla...

    Ok, here's the explanation:

The song is not good, it's just that the others are worse. Especially if you also consider the quality of the artists. Jukka can at least carry a tune. I also tried turning my head away and just listen to the music and then imagening a good artist performing it. I then felt that the song had more potential than I did at first.

    That's an excellent point.:D
I wonder when the contest will have a voting option "none of the songs were good enough" or just leave the 12 points undecided. Earlier with the jurys this could have been done buti guess now the phone vote has ruined the possibility...

I'm just hoping for the Lordi effect (TM) to happen again with our - Denmark's - proud contestant: the transvestite singing Drama Queen!

    How's that for national branding.
