.. Or they were taught to behave this way.
Doesn´t justify, of course.

No, of course not.Have you ever hit your partner or a child?*
Yes.Have you yourself ever been a victim?
Yes, it would be funny if it wasn't so sad...What's funny is that the only people who are okay with physically disciplining their children were themselves disciplined physically as children;
It will disappear.kids who weren't hit ALL grow up into adults that don't hit, whereas not all kids that were hit grow up into adults that also hit. Whether or not it is acceptable or good, it seems as though it will eventually disappear regardless, for this reason.
Neither have I.I have never hit my girlfriend.
Neither wil I.I would never hit a woman.
My friend, I think you just won the thread.Only a coward hits a weaker person.
Have you yourself ever been a victim?
Never slapped my wife, nor my kids. Spanking however.....
"Spanked as a child" and "slapped as a child" could be two very different things you know. I support spanking, but not slapping. This modern no-spanking movement has me baffled, not to mention the fact that I'm worried about younger generations being increasingly "softer" which I think is both a cause and effect, in general. The country's becoming "sissified".
For us non-native speakers who might miss the subtleties of your beautiful language: please explain the finer subtle differences between "to spank" and "to slap".and fwiw, you can be a victim of abuse and be neither spanked nor slapped.

Does this involve both seeking large objects to hid behind and drawing their most closest available hidden gun?I have never slapped my wife. I have never abused my wife. I have however participated in what I'd call "consensual domestic violence".

My usage is that "slap" is open-handed hit across the face or perhaps generally to the body, whereas "spank" implies open-handed hit to the butt.
