Evidence for creationism

However, I prefer the answer that the 'Creator is not good'. It's simpler and it fits all the evidence.

Just like cold is the absence of heat and darkness is the absence of light, then one could argue that the devil is the absence of good, or more appropriately, the absence of God.

So the Devil is a privative then, just like the condition of "Knurd".

why do you equate God and good? Any reason or just old tradition?

How can god be good, considering all the suffering?

Isnt the point that man causes his own suffering by not listening to God?

Isn't the point God created the suffering when he created Man?

Because carnivorous animals, diseases, natural disaster, senility and the like are DEFINITELY caused by not listening to God !

You're welcome to read the past few posts, which shows that an omnipotent, omnibenevolent god is just a logical absurdity, considering the very state of the world - and not just the state of human decisions.

Can you tell me what a fetus has to do in order to derserve nicotin withdrawal at birth?

Seriously, all that "it's your own fault" is utter nonsense - you can make that claim for all who have free will, but as has been detailed in this very thread repeatedly there is a lot of suffering happening where those who suffer have no fee will and no choice.

I'm curious. Could you tell me what your teachers thought about ecology (the science, nor the green movment) And what they thought about free-market economy?

Well, it kinda makes sense. There are rules of reality that God is beholden to, and so it makes sense that there are areas of the Universe (the multiverse) where God would not be.

Maybe the Calvinists had it right after all. Maybe God has only elected a portion of humanity to be saved and to hell with the rest. It's terrible, but it seems more consistent.

This. This is the only way how a God can be Omniscient as he claims he is.

Can we discuss the nature of God in a different thread? We were actually starting to get a creationist discussion going. :)

I'm fine with it, all I saw was 20 pages of excuses

I originally asked for evidence for creationism, not proof of God or the disproving of the theory of evolution, so we could actually have a chance for some verifiable information to be provided. No luck so far. :(

You can't find any non-thiestic evidence for Creationism. The best available 'evidence' Creationists and YECers have are sites like 'Answers in Genesis'.

Anyone who believes in Creationism or YECism derives their beliefs from the bible. Any discussion about the Bible turns either toward to its validity or God. Since there isn't really anyone here advocating for Biblical literalism or validity, the discussion inevitably turned toward God.
Basicaly, you scared away the YECers by making an intelligent thread!

You mean debate, rather than rhetoric, is winning the day here? If only the rest of the world was like that. :)

Mainly because there is none. And with the way the creationists go on they will never find any evidence in support of their supposition, even if it actually does exist (unlikely as that is).
But from their stand point they are exactly right to argue against evolution, as Darwin in putting out his theory and backing it up with lots and lots of evidence, kicked out from underneath religion in general one of it's few remaining props, i.e. that God exists and the proof is the "obvious design" which exists in all of life (i.e. Paleyism). With that gone deists have pretty much nothing, leaving pantheism the only, IMO, viable pro-deity religious position.
