Empires continue to Rise
As the cradle unites to defeat the pirates a new and more deadly conflict evolves for Corenwal as they engage in their first major war and it is overseas. If victorious the pirate menace will be gone forever but if defeated well who is to say Corenwal will not be pounced on by its neighbors taking advantage of their weakness? We now look into the cradle as new and more deadly conflicts like the one with Corenwal arise.
Also, a new threat has entered the cradle which will lead to decades of misery and war...
Corenwal
Corenwal in the last few years with its massive fleet managed to crush the pirate menace and discover the source of the pirates. Saliden was small city-state located on the river delta recently arises to prominence (about the same time as the pirates) for providing the pirates with a base to launch attacks in which 20% of plunder went to Saliden. Saliden soon became a breeding ground for these pirates as they moved across the Great Sea taking advantage of the often overstretched supply lines. Saliden immediately organizes its defenses and prepares for a long siege as Corenwal’s fleet moves in crushing Saliden’s fleet to oppose a blockade. On the sea Corenwal reigns supreme but on land they encounter a much different story. Outnumbered on land Corenwal makes its landing to siege the capital of Saliden or Port Shomzorn. The army of Corenwal manages to trick the enemy into thinking there is much more of them then really there.
Commander of the Corenwal expeditionary force decides that city cannot be captured without putting the Corenwal army in a precarious position. The general attacks the only thing Saliden has left unguarded their rural lands. This immediately is pillaged by Corenwal who literally snuffs out the tiny rural economy of Saliden. Saliden as we speak is held up in their capital thinking that they are too far outnumbered to survive on the outside of their walls.
Oh and Corenwal offers the pirates service in their navy (ones that are captured) which swells the lines of Corenwal’s navy but can these new pirates be trusted?
Corenwal also completes one of the greatest projects of all time for their people and perhaps the Great Sea. The giant statue of Aporatanus is finished. A giant bronze statue of a god holding his trident in the great harbor of Neptanian now considered the center of religion for Bhatoism. The many worshippers of this religion flock to the city to see the great statue. Even people not followers stand amazed by the giant statue that took many decades to finally complete.
Expeditions north along with T’lur Pa discover a many new lands but only a portion of these discoveries leak out into the nations of the Great Sea.
(Corenwal: -10 ships, -5 sceptra, - 500 infantry, -200 cavalry, +Neptanian religious center +10 ships +1000 people Saliden -10 ships, -15 pirate ships, -100 infantry, -50 cavalry, -1000 people)
Duchy of Fizcat
The Duchy of Fizcat sees the conflict with the sudden spike in piracy spiral downwards as Corenwal attacks their home base. Fizcat really is quite quiet this turn as they found the city of Rubian in the nearby mountains. The farmers begin to fill the countryside as an expedition is sent to look for minerals in the nearby mountains. An abundance of copper and tin are found so the community begins to set up mining bases. The effects on the nation have not been felt yet but the young mining industry is expected to explode in the next few years.
T’lur Pa
Captain Cacique is perhaps the highlight of T’lur Pa these 25 years as he leads a exploration mission north to the ocean to the north. T’lur Pa establishes two colonies on the entry to the Great Sea controlling any trade or exploration going through this region he set north. Within a few weeks he reached a large island in the middle of the ocean. A small colony is set up and he sets out west exploring far but the cooler climate and storms force him to turn around. He then turned east discovering more land but once again the harsh climate forces them to turn around. The lands in the north are far different then the sheltered stable climate of the Great Sea with few people living here. A few ships are lost in the voyage including the ship carrying Captain Cacique as he returned from the large island home…
T’lur Pa continues its war against the barbarians that were threatening their southern territories. The war is largely successful as T’lur Pa calls up a large force to defeat the nearby tribes. The smaller bickering tribes along the T’lur Pa’s border put up resistance but in the end T’lur Pa’s superiorly organized and commanded forces come out victorious. The tribes not bordering T’lur Pa unite under the leadership of Taine the Wise who negotiates a cease fire with the leading general of T’lur Pa who him and soldiers are tired of years of campaigning in these small tribes. It has yet to be seen how the Queen of T’lur Pa will react but no matter there are peace on the borders of T’lur Pa again.
Maasla Kiesta
Maasla Kiesta experiences a very sorrow event but it is followed by a joyous event and the doubling of power the nation has. Emperor Maasl-B'Deiru the Scholar suffered a strange malady as his muscular movements began to shut down. He went into a vegetative state before dieing five years after the disease first began to appear. The nation went into deep sorrow as a new heir to the throne was searched for. It turns out he is the son of the royal union between Maasla Kiesta and Kaldur. The nation is now in a union and the power of both nations more then doubled in size and power.
Unification also brings problems to this new nation. The biggest problem is bringing two different people together. Both speak different languages and have different cultures influenced by different nations.
The education system teaches people of the state religion but noExpansion north yields some minor casualties.
(+1 confidence)
Terra Trifluentia
This is a time for peace for this decentralized yet powerful nation. The Curia Patriarchae continues to grow in size and various alliances are made by chieftains to ensure their policies are brought forward. These seem to be the first political parties as chieftains argue and debate to try and forward their intentions. Culture and the spreading of the religion
Veneratio Atavorum begins to slowly move into Maasla Kiesta and the nation of Tephen to the north. The spread of the religion is really amongst the merchant class who has long been exposed to the wealthy nation of Terra Trifluentia. They saw that perhaps their fortunes would expand greatly if they worshipped the same gods. So far only small but a wealthy class has converted but surely with their influence they will spread the religion further amongst their own class and lower classes.
A few chieftains that have long been under Terra’s influence join the Curia Patriarchae but this is only tiny amounts of land gained.
Empire of the Sky Gods
Empire of the Sky Gods move through the lands plundering and looting the lands in the nearby mountain ranges. Not much wealth is found here as they move eastwards but their conquests in the former Kingdom of Canidae.
Jahartua Sky-God goes to his temple devoted specially to him. It is built just like the others on the tops of the mountain peaks in the sky. The outsides brimmed with gold and on the inside a room filled with treasures. His servants are placed in the tomb with him where they will die and ascend to the heavens where they will rule upon the mortals below.
The nearby strange like barbaric people friends of dogs fall into anarchy and civil war. The resulting powerful force across the mountain range causes what seems to be a flood. These people are fleeing for their lives and while most moved into the plains of the mountains many fled through the territories of Canidae. The Kingdom tried to secure their borders but the flood of people desperate easily smashed through the armies of Canidae. From the west the Sky Gods come taking over a land full of anarchy as despots rattle for control. What use to be permanent settlements in the Canidae valley are destroyed or abandoned. Much wealth is found in the despots hands as the Sky Gods take control of the lands.
Ilion
Ilion the master of productivity and effectively channeling all the people’s production for the state. Most under the rule of Ilion are patriotic and will fight to the end and the generals here are probably the best in the world. Ilion has the power to be great as they have vast territories of uncivilized land to claim easily with their force or they could go on the path of military conquest defeating their smaller neighbors.
The strategic position of the nations on the bay and their control over it has lead to a huge growth in trade making Ilion a very wealthy city. Once Ilion’s navy expands and they begin to establish themselves more in overseas markets they have the potential to be a just big as Tlur Pa and Corenwal on markets.
The continued urbanization of the state continues to push the urban part of the country as the main producer of wealth.
(+1 urban economy, -1000 infantry, -500 cavalry)
Dilhava
Dilhava moves southwards with a quite a large force. Their goal is to claim more land to the south even though they have tons of undeveloped land in their interior. Another force is sent to a nearby island to claim it. Not much resistance is found on the island but many pirate bases are uncovered. Dilhava immediately dispatches their force which had been hunting pirates for years moves to the island to help clear any pirate ships attempting to move to a new base.
Much of the pirates escape and move south but dozens are caught and destroyed as they flee south.
Vlakan
The Vlakan turn their armies westwards after conquering the states to the south. The armies easily roll across the suprised forces at first but more organized resistance begins to turn up. The advance continues to go but like said the resistance slows down the advance and inflicts high casulties. The people fight fiercly not wanting to be another province of the Vlakan. Half of two states are currently occupied but even these lands remain uncontrolled while more organized resistance remains in the far west.
(-500 infantry, -500 Vadaron, -50 cavalry)
Hyoln
Hyoln is probably the most boring nation this turn so we will end with them

(No offense Lightfang). Hyoln begins to make deals with some of the nearby tribes in the mountains to exploit the mineral wealth. Many minerals begin to flow down the narrow streams on trade ships but with no real base to effectively process the minerals.
Perhaps if a permanent population base is established here then much wealth will flow from the mountains to the homelands of Hyoln.
Taruq
A powerful thundering force moves across the great range to the south. Thousands are slain on the open plains of the valley but not much word of their terrors have spread to the civilized nations yet. Once the Taruq break through the thin barrier of barbaric tribes along their borders they will without a doubt move to the valley to plunder and loot. Who are they? The fleeing masses call them the Taruq.
