Like the title of the thread says, what are your favorite computer games other than the Civ series.

Mine are the Command and Conquer Series (Red Alert 2 w/Yuri's Revenge especially)
Rise of Nations
Age of Mythology
Runescape (yes I'm 18 and I still play RS, pathetic I know. My reasoning is I like the number of people to interact with).

Life .

well, we'll get the civ-esque ones out of the way first:

- Alpha Centauri
- Call To Power II

And now the rest:

- Ghost Recon
- Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
- Imperium Galactica II
- Shogun: Total War
- Medieval: Total War

I've played Warcraft II before civ. That and Alpha Centauri are the only games I've played other than the civ series.

I recently stumbled across the amazing world of roms. Ive been going down memory lane. Lately Ive been rediscovering the ancient snes 'Ogre Battle' of all things. Is it me, or did they make better games back then? They probably concentrated alot more on the gameplay because they had virtually no fancy graphics to fall back on.

Amen. I (re-)played a bunch of old NES and SNES classics when I was in college. Seemed a bit strange to be ignoring current games in favor of actively seeking out outdated games, but like you said, some of those old classics featured far better gameplay mechanics than the pretty-pictured drivel being shovelled out these days. Nothing like playing 8-bit on a Pentium...

@TLC: you still play Starcraft? Well done; I loved that game (and Warcrafts, to a lesser extent), and was just considering re-installing it the other day. Protoss ruled it (IMHO). :goodjob:

Absolutely. Today I think there are really only 3 or 4 games in the stores, in a hundred different boxes with a hundred different names, but all essentially the same.

I've played through Zelda 1 and FF1 on NES roms already. It's loads of fun. :)

I also love StarCraft, Command & Conquer (Tiberian Dawn, Tiberian Sun, Red Alert 1 and 2), Alien vs Predator, and a number of others.

Myst.
Elder Scrolls.
Castles: Siege and Conquest.

Dominions II

never played the first one, haven't played it in a while... I really like it.

Other games?

Master of Magic
Master of Orion II

pretty much anything where you control multiple towns, generate units, and kill things

GTA. :D

It's just fun to drive like a freak in the street of a city without having to suffer from the consequence. :)

This being said, I actually don't play much to video games...
