The basic flaw is the idea that Great Women are in a different category from Great Artists, Great Merchants, etc.** Obviously you can be a Great Woman and a Great Scientist. However, I do wonder whether there is something in the argument that it's the best we can do given the limitations of the graphics system and that something is better than nothing....
Of course they would all fit into the pre-existing categories, with the model being chosen at the same time as the name. Still figuring out how to do that, but it shouldn't be impossible.

Those unit models are nice, but the face buttons look a bit out of place. The art style of the faces seems so much different from the base style, so I think they would have to be edited a bit to better match the current male face buttons.
I agree ...

Great Prophet - Oprah Gail Winfrey

You already have included Hildegard von Bingen as Great Prophet for the Holy Roman Empire, as a male GP tho.
There are a couple of those already in the game. Coco Chanel and Marie Curie are also there iirc. Looks like France fills these requirements quite easily ...

Grace Hopper as a GS for the US.

Valentina Tereshkova as GS or GE for Russia/USSR.

Vasilisa Kozhina and possibly Nadezhda Durova as GGs for Russia (both served in the war of 1812)

Policarpa Salavarrieta (La Pola) as a Great Spy for Columbia

Possibly Gertrudis Bocanegra as a spy or general for Mexico

Also, Lise Meitner Great Scientist for Austria/HRE

and possibly Gorgo, Queen of Sparta as a Great General or Great Spy for the Greeks.

Do they need to be historical or confirmed existed? For older civs mythological persons could be used like Istar for Babylonia. It would also fit well for ancient civs and their mood.

I already included Lise Meitner in my previous post.
In DoC, Leoreth merged the HRE & Prussian GP pools together, so in effect, it doesn't matter whether someone is "Prussian" or "Austrian".

Here's one:

Should Marie Curie be on the Polish or French list?
In these cases, I usually choose the civ/country where they made their most significant contributions. That makes Curie and Chopin French, and for instance Einstein German and Copernicus Polish.

Hm, haven't decided on that yet.

INDONESIA

Raden Ajeng Kartini (R.A. Kartini)
She is an aristocratic Javanese daughter that support and encourage emancipation in Indonesia so woman and man are equal; previously man work and woman stays at home waiting for marriage. I don't know what GP she is supposed to be in-game, but she is indeed a Great Person.

Tribhuwana Wijayatunggadewi
Queen of Majapahit that appoint Gajah Mada as the prime minister to pursue massive expansion of the kingdom. She also led some battles herself (Great General)

Tjoet Nja' Dhien
Heroine of the Acehnese people of the Sultanate of Aceh in a guerrilla war against Dutch. (Great General)

Keumalahayati
The first woman admiral in the modern world, also belongs to the Sultanate of Aceh, and equated to Semiramis and Catherine the Great by several historians. References to her can be found in many Western/Chinese literature. Her reputation as the guardian of the Aceh Kingdom led England to choose a peaceful, diplomatic method by which to enter the Malacca Strait. Great General

Anggun Cipta Sasmi (really debatable)
Indonesian singer - now French naturalized - famous in Europe for singing the hit single "Snow in Sahara" and many more. She also represent France in Eurovision Singing Contest 2002 in Azerbaijan. Great Artist

Gayatri Rajapatni
A devout Buddhist, queen consort of the founder and first king of Majapahit,Raden Wijaya. Tradition mentioned her as a woman of extraordinary beauty with exceptional charm, wisdom and intelligence. She was an influential figure within Majapahit inner palace and said to laid foundation of the philosophy of the Majapahit kingdom and become a patron, sponsor and protector for Gajah Mada; raising him to be what he was capable of. At some point, she renounced her worldly affairs and retired as a Bhikkuni. She was enshrined in several temples and posthumously portrayed as Prajnaparamita, the Mahayana Buddhist female boddhisattva of transcendental wisdom. Great Prophet

Ratu Sima
I actually prefer the Indonesian wiki since it's more detailed. Ratu Sima is the queen of the Kingdom of Kalingga in northern Java (exact location still unknown, recent research leads to Pekalongan). She is infamous for her fierce law against thievery, which encouraged her people to be honest and uphold absolute truth. According to tradition, one day a foreign king placed a bag filled with gold on the intersection in Kalingga to test the famed truthful and honesty of Kalingga people. Nobody dared to touch the bag that did not belong to them, until three years later when Shima's son, the crown prince, accidentally touched the bag with his foot. The queen issued a death sentence to her own son, but was overruled by a minister that appealed the queen to spare the prince's life. Since it was the prince's foot that touched the bag of gold, so it was the foot that must be punished through mutilation. What a great Queen, isn't she? I don't know though which category should she belong.

Great summary as always Ben :D
Though I think you missed Raisa Andriana :mischief:
Spoiler :

Two Dutch Peoples suggestions:

(Great Merchant) Kenau Simonsdochter Hasselaer, a wood merchant, however a myth formed around her that she helped defend Dutch city of Haarlem when besieged by Spanish in 1572-1573.

(Great Artist) Titia Bergsma, first western woman in Japan (1817). In that period Japan was isolated and western women and children were prohibited to enter. However his husband Jan Cock Blomhoff director of trading colony in Dejima illegally took his wife, child and two maids to Dejima. After several weeks they were kicked out Japan. Japanese artists who never saw a western woman, made many images which became one of most popular image of 19th century Japan.

If you want more French women there's always George Sand and Simone De Beauvoir, both Artists and Thérèse de Lisieux, Bernadette Soubirous and Madeleine Cinquin as Prophets. Is Catherine of Siena an Italian Prophet ? Also the Chevalier d'Eon would be kind of a female spy (if he/she's not already in).

Hm, haven't decided on that yet.

I would argue that we limit this to historical persons only.

Let us not forget at one point in the Civilization series, Sid Meier and friends resorted to using original characters (Shakala of the Zulu) and deities (Amaterasu) as leaders for civilizations at one point.
Using them devalues the contributions of real persons; and this isn't a gender argument here. I'd like to point out we don't have Rostam as a Persian GG or Herakles as a Greek GG.
So by what justification should we have female GPs like Ishtar or Guinevere?
