Are young females objectified too much by the media of film, television, press, calendars, etc?

i.e. does the potrayal of them simply as images rob them of their essential human personhood?

This really wouldn't be a problem if people didn't act like their favorite TV characters.
I have mixed opinions on this, the way females are portrayed on TV does objectify them, but what would TV be like without it? It also feels like a lot of women want to objectify themselves, even if people of that mentality aren't a minority. As for in reality, objectifying anyone is immoral.

Yes, they are.

Yes, I can't imagine anyone voting no. A thing to point out though is females even objectify each other. You can't blame this all on men.

A more interesting question would be if men are objectified by the media.

Objectification is more a problem of the viewer, not the subject.

I like female objects - does that count ?

I agree they are. Indeed I posted a poll. The nature of their objectification, though, is much harder to define than that of young women.

What is Twilight? Apart from that crepuscular thingy I see now and again outside.

Twilight is a horribly written series of novels that reads like the diary of a teenage girl. It was made into a popular movie franchise in which muscular guys frequently parade around shirtless for cheap fan service.

Ah yes. I know the genre. I saw a male-stripper being interviewed once. (he had his clothes on at the time). The interviewer asked if he thought he was being objectified and if that bothered him. His answer was yes and no (respectively). In fact, he rather liked it.

You can never have too much T&A in the media. It's an oxymoron. More please...

T&A I had to go google for. I conclude I agree. More oxymorons?

How about this:

Prudence is a rich ugly old maid courted by incapacity. (Don't ask. I haven't a clue.)
