I think they intended it as a reference to the Matrix. That PUA scene isn't really related (though they do mention them briefly in the documentary), they just used the same name. Either way, people should be more open minded!I have heard it is a good documentary, but they picked a horrible name for it. The Red Pill movement is a mysognistic movement related to the pick up artist scene. As far as I know. A lot of people are going to ignore this documentary due to the name alone.
Could you repeat this in normal English, please? It's definitely a reference to the subreddit. That subreddit has a lot of crossover with the MRA thing as the cover the same talking points. The MRA talking points serve TRP primarily as evidence that the mainstream is "all lies" and that it really is okay to behave in their suggested way while ignoring the political fight feminism is asking you to take up.
When I was most into orthodox 3rd wave feminism (2012/2013) I had the worst game because I was afraid of abusing my privilege. Since TRP is about getting laid it's effective to brainwash its members away from such distractions.
A lot of TRP project their ideological assistance all the way in their minds, like what's a good poon-slaying meta-game (disregard feminism in your personal quest) is True For All Time And Space, projected across species and let alone cultures. This makes sense as calories spent juggling complexity takes away from calories spent winning. Personally I think it's permissible as some level 1 retraining—it's important to have game or you're minimizing love shared among humans—but ultimately denying truth is weakness.
Have you seen the doc? It's not about picking up girls at all. It's definitely a reference to the subreddit.
I'll bet you, having not watched it, that the subreddit is the inspiration for the name even though her documentary was about politics(?) and not game. I read a lot of that subreddit a while back. A large chunk is devoted to MRA political stuff. All the talking points covered in the wiki I learned on TRP.Have you seen the doc? It's not about picking up girls at all.
TRP stands for "The Red Pill" as in the subreddit and not the myriad other "red pills" that took The Matrix as inspiration. "poon-slaying" means having sex from a male-gaze. MRA is mens rights activists. The rest of it is up to you to read more carefully or ask specific questions.Could you repeat this in normal English, please?
They explicitly say in the film that it's a reference to The Matrix. I think what happened is MRA used it first, then some guys decided to apply the ideas to picking up girls and adopted the Matrix reference for themselves.I'll bet you, having not watched it, that the subreddit is the inspiration for the name even though her documentary was about politics(?) and not game. You should watch the docMRA crybabies
You should watch the docI think it'll give you a much better perspective on MRAs.
Haha, you're almost quoting one of the feminists in the movie at this point. They directly address this line of thinking -- I really think you would find it interesting. And if MRAs are like you say, the documentary should just confirm your views right?By "better" I suppose you mean "more like yours." I'm not really interested enough in joining the MRA crybabies to burn the time. They're just another group motivated by "it isn't fair to us that we are losing some of the outrageous privileges that we have previously enjoyed" while having no compassion for those who have not enjoyed such privileges ever.
Tim, what's wrong with being a genuine Men's Rights Activist?

So it's very relevant to your point of view. It would be a great exercise in hearing both sides of the argument for you.The fact you recommended it has already confirmed my views. As to me "almost quoting" someone that you have ignored...so what?
