Edit: The chains on the pillar, not the dangly ones.

The underlying texture is mostly fine, maybe just a wee bit lighter. but it contrasts nicely with the chains.
 
some chains around the top section would be nice, but just by looking at it, I can guess that'd be a mapping nightmare. So probably not worth the effort.

Oh, could you make the dangly chains a silvery/metallic color, like the wrapped around ones?
just for the sake of neatness and matching.
 
Perhaps if some heads or body parts are attached to the hanging chains it could have a more gory aspect. I also think with a few more spikes it could be even prettier.Anyway it's a nice model
 
Well, by the looks of it, an entire corps is 6 vertices, so I think individual body parts might be too much detail to add.

unless they were just textured on...
 
The hanging chains are just alphachanneled-out and the ones on the column are drawn by pencil, so there's a difference :). I will remake them too. Well, I think I am dragged in RP game so the update will probably be in the morning.

I am against heads/bodyparts considering the size of the structure. Small bodies are fine, so I will pain them over the texture.
 
I haven't played FFH for a while.Does the Banno civ still use the generic swordsman unit?
 
OK, I've just recently awaken up (1 PM here :)) and did some fixes to the texture.
Better hanging chains, dead people and all.
Is this texture fine as a final result to re-wrap it around the model?

I liked it with the visible bloodstains....
They gave a nice contrast.I think the corpses should be more red and mangled anyway.

But in general, red/black/silver was a nice color scheme, and suited calabim well. Thsi revision introduces a bit too much orange/skincolor.

Are you planning to make the hanging chains metallic ?, too ?
 
Huh. I always thought the Roman axemen looked suspiciously like Bannor.

In any case, they're kind of at odds with the champion, visually.

Being the good guys and all, I've always envisioned bannor having more traditional steel armour. The archers and axemen seem to have black tinted armour at present.
 
Bloodstains are still here, but you know, the blood darkens when stays on the open air :).

You do have a point, but darkened blood looks more dull.
Even still, the corpses should be more mangled and red. My general point here is just that the red/black contrast looked really good, and worked well.

I see what you mean now, I had to zoom in to notice the difference. It's a bit subtle, I think.

Can you try to make the hanging chains look similar to the ones wrapped around the chain? As it is, they're a lot darker, and it looks a bit strange because of that.


I love visual consistency :)
 
Currently the texture is "broken", by this I mean it's wrapped bad so I will redo the texture placement, I wanted to ask about the texture itself.

The hanging ones are not darker, it's Nifviewer's lightning which makes closer ones brighter while the game has no positioned lightning effects.
