[FfH II Art Team Blog]

but then i clicked that FfH borrowed Hastur from elsewhere. just found it interesting. its pretty good too :p

Hmm... we should have Great Old Ones as randomly appearing monsters when the AC counter is high enough - FFH2 lacks enough ways for the world to end. :)

I'm not part of the art team, but I'm making some religious crusader units for each religion. What do you think?

Refar is still working on Lamia's anim. He's advanced and it shoud be ready soon ( I don't give any date to not stress him, but he told me that he's advanced). Meanwhile, I was working on city set. I was supose to to do all the city set a long time ago, but finally decided to focus on units. We took some FF city set for the moment and we'll keep some for the final game, but some will be remade. The first a I made is for Bannor.

Their new palace is a EE2 bulding, and I've made a new city set that fit it with its texture.

Also, since we're keeping the excellent FF Amurites city set, I've made a new palace for them. It's an old bulding that I've made for AoI but finally get rejected because it was too "sophisticated" for this age of ... ice. Finaly, this Amurites Terrace will be usefull in the age of rebirth. Texture it's a bit blurry if you zoom a lot because it's a 128* res instead of 256, but because it was originaly made for the expansion, I wanted to keep the things the smalest possible and I didn't keeped a 256* backup.

Nice job!
I bet everyone of the Bannor citizens keep a bow and a couple of hundred of arrows in case the city gets besieged. I'm picturing a great grandma sitting in the attic shooting at the Orcs as they attack. :p

I like the Order, Empyrean and (from what I guess it will finally look like) the Fellowship unit.
Although I don't think there are existing units that could use these graphics (since flavor units are based upon civ and not religion).
So you'd have to make a small modmod which maybe includes a religious melee unit for each religion, that would be nice. :)

Nice one there, IIRC the Bannor use the same cityset as the Mercs at the moment, so its good to see them getting something different.

Of course, the city set I'd really love to see is Balseraphs. Any chance of that?

I like the Order, Empyrean and Fellowship crusader too, but the OO crusader just doesn't look creepy enough to follow the Great Old Ones.

Those look more like religious Swordsmen or Champion graphics to me. It could be pretty cool actually to have the same unit appear different based on its religion. If they went back to the Vanilla way of defining religion through promotions then the promotion could easily change the graphics.

It isn't bad, but it isn't really what I think of when I think Govannon. It looks rather like a Warrior-King, which fits fine for Kyorlin, but doesn't seem to fit Govannon. Govannon is more of a wandering sage, with the skills to rise to a position of power but prefering to live a simple life among the poor whom he is teaching to help themselves though magic. I don't think he should be dressed in fancy cloths, bright colors, or armor. I tend to picture him as wearing a long, plain, dark green or brown robe, with an unadorned wooden staff.

I might want to use this model for the Caswallen unit I was planning to add in my modmod though.

 It's the viewpoint, I think. The pants were one of the things I didn't change from the original model. That said, I might go over it anyway to make it fit the rest of the outfit (and make him less Kylorin-like).

Edit: D'oh, ninja'd by Magister! Yeah, Kylorin's model is more suited to a battlemage than a teacher, but I wanted to make him stand out a bit from the regular adepts and I noticed Kylorin's model wasn't being used in vanilla FFH, so I figured I could use it as a base. I wonder, would changing the armor to something more robe-like work better?

Yeah, but I'll probably keep it for last. With Mecurians and Infernals, it will be most difficult to make, I still have difficulties to picture their city style. Something that will suit their flavor, but still belivable. It's probably the biggest challenge (not technicly, but conceptually.) If you have ideas or concept picture, I'm open to it.

This is really just for fun...
I just found some very old stuff and thought maybe someone could use it for a smile or two ;) :)
back in the time where I was looking for a FfH symbol, those are some tests, that didnt pass:

dont worry, tomorrow you will see the new dwarves I just sent to Kael... have no time for screenshots now :p

 sorry seZ but im kinda glad they didnt get approved ;) the current one is infinetly better than those :p although the top one is pretty cool.

but

OMFG YAY DWARVES! cant wait to see what masterpieces youve made that i can steal this time

You know.... if you made more "falling angel" pictures, going from standing up all the way to facing down, you could use it as a graphical indication of the current AC level, and ditch the numbers. Maybe 5 shifts total so you see every 20% (could even have a rising demon for another 5)

That would be friggin weird - and maybe quite appropriate? :D
The FALLING angel looks pretty gravitationally challenged, it unsettles me. :P

small update 13.o1.o9

My newest creation: The Arquebuse Gunman
Actually I created 4 dwarven units inbetween, but I am too lazy to arrange them in pretty pictures and upload them, so if you want to see them, get the latest patch...
