Feh, I'd like something more personalised for the Mercs. We get that for all the other civs, why not them? Of course, the Art Team (rightly) has higher priorities, and Kirb isn't interested, but still.
 
Race-specific art for mercenaries would be nice, but in that case they should probably be made to have random races like slaves do. (Also, they and slaves shouldn't just get the civ's default race if they would otherwise be human.)

They DO have something more personalised. Angel of Death, Seraph, Herald, Ophanim, Repentant Angel, Valkyrie, Basium. All have unique art. Their human units are an insignificant afterthought.
 
I fully think that this should be a tier 5 world unit for either Hippus, Malakim, or Lanun.

I just had the best Idea of where to place the Hydra.

Its a world unit, has cannibalize, strength 14, 50% vs melee + 50% vs recon + 50% vs horse, gets the montrous unit promotion (so maybe make it stronger in that case) ... and for every unit it fights it gains a temporary unit of strength (5 turns?) which is stackable up to +20 strength (growing extra heads)

perhaps give it whater walking, and require tower of eyes, dungeon, alchemy lab, Strength of Will, and Divine Essence (or Theology if u think DE is a bit much) .... and perhaps 5 incense resources?? or how bout incense, reagents, gems, and gold. (and water mana?)
 
That sounds like a cool idea. Maybe with similar requirements to what I have edited in?

In that case Theology + Strength of Will is more reasonable, as well as incense and water mana and chaos mana being the resource requirement.

you mean me? :p i have been unable to animate him or find willing animators :(

but there are 5 versions of the modle, 1 head, 2 heads, 3 heads, 4 heads and 5 heads. i was thinking that with each combat promotion it gains a new head (so the extra heads are purely graphical). not sure how doable that is though. but alas, its all for nill unless i can find someone who wants to animate the beastie :(
 
You know what else needs updating, that we trailed off of?

The Lanun Adept. We were going to make an awesome Wench.

As I recall, there was no "we". You were asking seZereth to do it.

But if you feel up to giving it a shot, it wouldn't be that hard. The Lanun settler has a perfect Wench model in it. you'd just need to assign her a good skeleton, and give her adept animations. Maybe recolor the clothing or somesuch.
 
I've had a quick game with the Svarts, and for some reason I got it into my head that "Illusionist" was the name of their top tier spellslinger, when it was the Archmage banshee model that I wanted to replace. Although I'm amenable to bowing to popular demand and making it t' Mobius Witch.

It's 1320 faces, Warkirby, which I'm hoping should be fine for a unit there should be a max of 4 of at any one moment (although I'm working in quads - don't know if they should be considered in tris for Civ). Thanks for the texturing tips.
