FfH trivia game thread

They have no Govannon to teach druids fire.

I noticed people are only trying the tie-breaker, not the main question.

Bah. Anything can be justified RP-wise if you're creative enough. Empyrean Calabim are a bit of a stretch, as are Veil Mercurians and Order Infernals, but the Amurites should have no problem justifying anything. Anything. Even forging a permanent alliance with the Illians and covering you land with Ice Mana Nodes.

@ Mewtarthio: you forgot about Liches, and the Hemah and Govannon can get Twincast.

Curses! All right, you win this round, Magister.

oh, and theoretically you could have a beastmaster capture Acheron, Euabatres, and Abashi, who can each create 1 metoer with Roar instead of meteor swarm

I'd considered that, but he said no capturing or domination.

By the way, isn't the Meteor spell called "Breathe Fire"?

And you can not capture even Acheron? Is it limited with Amurites? In case of Grigory there are no druids and Govannon but all of their archmages and liches may have twincast.

Let me think. They lose two Archmage heroes, as well as three pseudo-Archmages, but give six mundane Archmages the "Hero" promotion. That's not worth it. Ultimately, the net effect is three fewer meteors.

Grigori:
3 archmages+ spellstaff+twincast=3*3*2*2=36
3 liches+ spellstaff+twincast=3*3*2*2=36
72 in sum

Amurites:
3 archmages+ spellstaff=3*3*2=18
3 liches+ spellstaff=3*3*2=18
3 druids=3*3=9
Hemah+Govannon+ spellstaff+twincast=2*3*2*2=24
=69

so Grigori win with 3 more.

I suppose you're right Mewtarthio, anything can be justified. But, there are certain things the Amurites aren't allowed to do in their civilisation. And, Chip56, that's the number I got. 72. Great, isn't it?

Axeman, longbowman, mage and assassin. :D I am not allowed to answer but that was a joke.

Blasting Powder, Cannon, Arquebus and something?
(...of an age without magic...)

The only thing that really occurs to me is making a Flesh Golem out of their best mages or something..... (And even then maybe not) Are there any magic destroying guys out there that I can't think of?

hmmm,

library, great library, govannon, research education?

Anything that educates the common people, especially to do with magic.

I'll bite and say its Kol.7's turn, as I seem to have killed the thread...

Whats wrong with the Amurites using death mana? They are one of the few societies that doesn't mind the practice of necromancy, although they think it is dangerous enough to warrant regulation. That was not a good question.

But they punished (or Dain tried to punish) someone who tried to practice Necromancy.

But they punished (or Dain tried to punish) someone who tried to practice Necromancy.

"You have released Sammuel from the prisons? He was convicted of unapproved necromancy, of sustaining a creature's life past natural means!"

Notice that the complaint is that he has been practicing unapproved necromancy, not just that he has been practicing necromancy.

Also note that Valledia the Even released him because she had ordered him to do it (or perhaps she ordered him to use this magic again after he had been convicted of unapproved necromancy in the past. I'm not sure if the case Dain mentions is Einion's wife or an earlier one.)

Necromancy fits the Amurites very well, but only after going through the proper bureaucratic channels.
