I've only seen it a couple of times. Scion of Heaven was a random guess.

What units were removed when themagic branches were combined?

I know the imp is a former summon, although it's still in the game, so not sure if that counts.

I didn't play FFH2 back then and I don't really remember FFH1.

Besides, it seems like the wraith or spectre units could have 'evolved' from the old phantasm unit.

No, they could not have, they were summoned units at that point
Lifespark, Azer, Guardian Vine, Kikijub, Phantasm, these are the ones that are COMPLETELY GONE

Wraith and Spectres (which were called nightmares, before the resource was added) predated Phantasms significantly. I believe they date back to Light, while Phantasms (and the whole Shadow sphere) were only introduced in Shadow. I think that means they were the shortest lived summon.


Guardian Vines are actually still in the game, but I don't think there is any way to get one without cheating. I'll probably add them back in my version, and maybe give them come poison strength and the ability to cast Entangle. I'm thinking they may be the Nature III spell, while Vitalize gets a delay and moves to Nature II (unless I decide it goes better in the Creation Sphere). (I'm thinking Poison Blade will be a Nature I/Shadow I cross sphere spell.)

And of course the Azer is still around though an event, Griffins are now normal animals, Imps remain as UUs, and Chaos Marauders are still a planar gate unit.

The Azer is still around, as a random event spawn though.

Anyways, I don't know much about FFH2's development history.

It's a pretty rare event, I've only seen it appear in maybe 3 or 4 games, and only once in those games. They also only appear in desert tiles.

They are also available in the WB if you look and they still have a pedia entry.
