FfH2 Bug Thread

could this bug be fixed in patch e? it's very annoying and we already know how to fix it :D

"Bugs Reported with Fix Reccomended

1. If an HN unit is blockading and the owner is actually at peace with you, by revealing nationality (willfully or by Revelation spell) the blockade becomes permanent. This can be fixed by updating all blockades for a unit (CvUnit::updatePlunder) whenever changing HN status (CvUnit::changeHiddenNationality) Check the code below for best method (Emptiness - Post 863)

Code:
      updatePlunder(-1, false);
      m_iHiddenNationality += iNewValue;
      joinGroup(NULL, true);
      updatePlunder(1, false);
"

Yeap, will do.

awesome, thanx :D

another thing that should really be fixed imho is how AV spreads to a city when the infernals capture it BEFORE they decide wether or not not keep it or raze it, cuz it means that often the AC goes DOWN after the infernals raze a city :\

K, fixed. Keep it coming.

Are druids supposed to be able to double as high priests if upgraded from a middle priest? I vaguely suspect no, and that they should have medic 1-3 instead of the ability to gain the divine promotion.

Is the worldbreak spell supposed to be able to destroy a civ's palace? If yes then the AI needs to be taught to rebuild it, as it currently won't do so.

The Draw wars aren't permanent (its okay to declare peace during them).

I should have been clearer in my response to this bit.

Would it be possible to program it so that the wars started by completing The Draw ARE permanent? Isn't that really the intent: complete The Draw, go to war with everyone for the rest of the game? They're blocked from diplomacy, we know that. If you think about it, events like the mediator event or the troops-showing-mercy event imply that diplomacy is taking place, which seems to me shouldn't be happening. Flavor-wise these peacemaking events seem inappropriate in this context. It seems much more fitting to have the Illians complete the Draw, declare war on everybody, and fight till the end -- no diplomacy, no mercy, no mediation.

It's up to you, obviously, but I just wanted to make one last pitch for this before you release patch e. Please consider it. Thanks.

Why do axmen and champions not obsolete warriors, but sons of asena do?

A unit is only obsoleted if all of its possible upgrades is buildable, not if any of its upgrades are buildable. So for most civs you have to be able to build axemen and archers to obsolete warriors.

The Draw is a terrible ritual and a terrible mechanic to begin with. Don't make it worse than it already is!

I'm not trying to make it worse, I was just reporting what seemed to be a bug. Completing The Draw causes the Illians to declare war on everybody else and prevents them from conducting diplomacy with anyone with whom they're at war. Certain random events, however (the mediator event, the troops showing mercy event), allow the Illians to make peace, which seems to me to be inconsistent with what the Draw is supposed to do.

Whether The Draw is "terrible" and should be fundamentally changed I don't know and don't have a strong opinion on, but that's probably a discussion more suited to a different thread, not the bug thread.

Ahh, i see. On the other hand, I'm not exactly sure why the need to prevent warriors from being built throughout the game. Yes, ingenious leaders can kinda make upgrading warriors to better units a little OP, but that also has the definate downside of needing to have enough gold to make it happen (and therefore, lower the research). On the other hand, it would allow (with all civs) the ability to construct low cost units from every city, then upgrade that unit at a central location if needs be, allowing significantly easier offense AND defense. The trade off is trading production for gold - the more units you build and need to upgrade, the lower your science slider needs to be to afford all the upgrades.

it is not at all a bug, but I have a request.. if possible :
is it possible to have something remembering the options checked for the last game ?
(I always play with no-tech-brokering, permanent alliance, wildlands, blessing of amathon, living world..Etc)
and it is always a pain in the a** to have to select them again and again .. especially if once into the game I'm seeing I forgot some option, or to change my name, or to add some civs or the terrain is so bad I do'nt want to play it ...Etc

I mean, with FFH there are many more option than in cIV that the computer remembering your last option would ease the game creation !!and if you want to change the options, IMO, it is no more difficult to un-select some option than to select the ones you want.

thanks a lot.

aren't some events still bugged? I'm pretty sure that the big apes, Mary Morbius and possibly the Leviathan and Sailor's Dirge are never going to appear right now. I believe that's been fixed in FF, except that there they spawn in every game right now iirc.

In my previous game as Orcs (0.41d) I saw Sailor`s Dirge and Leviathan, few games earlier I saw Gurid, but I never saw Margalard and Mary :(

I've got one with mana nodes and building a city. I build a Law Mana node in my territory, and when sending a settler out to expand and reinforce my cultural borders, I noticed that I was able to actually build the city right on top of that node. When I built the city, I still had access to the mana itself. Nice little way to protect your mana lol

I saw Margalard in the Against the Barbarians (or whatever it's called) scenario a while ago. Boy did he set me back. :(

Seems like everyone but Gaelan - unless he's FF-only - is accounted for.

In the "Fall from heaven 2.ini" file in the root FFH2 mod directory the first entry is ForceGameOptions = 1. Change that to 0 and it might do what you want (or it might break the game, not sure which, but easy enough to change back).

As a second, better option, edit FFH2\Assets\XML\Gameinfo\CIV4GameOptionInfos.xml, which contains all of the game options you are talking about. Set the bDefault tags the way you want (0 for off, 1 for on). You can even set the bVisible tag to 0 for options you don't think you'll EVER want to pick for your various games, and they will no longer clutter the options list at game setup. There are a few other options, like inflation, you can turn on or off here as well, if you want to. Be aware that most likely this file will be replaced with new FFH patches, so you'll have to re-set your preferences when patch "e" comes out.

Hope this helps.
