Finally sick of this: Minimal-state Jesus

You know, you have to demonstrate this. Because it's not the case in many, many cases.

lj, it's okay... he isn't interested in having a conversation with us. Just let it go. :(

They also redistribute across generational lines, creating ponzi schemes that can never be repaid. I don't suspect I'll ever get a dime from social security, its going to collapse. Or I'll be asked to pay even more to get the same benefits, or pay the same to get less benefits, because the system is unsustainable. It was originally a state-mandated theft from the young workers to the old, who had never paid a dime for their retirement. And now, the elderly of today think they have paid into their retirement, when they really paid into their grandparents retirement. Its a never-ending cycle of dependance on the labor of other people.

.

well you should introduce govt. legislated superannuation, then the money paid in is available for your own personal retirement and cross genarational payments become unnecessary... of course you need to make it mandatory on all wages paid

That plan is far better than the status quo. Of course, government will never do it because it lives off parasitism.

well MY government did, and I have a personel retirement fund that is quite nice...
having had it for only half of my working life it may not be enougth, but any person starting work today will not need government payments for their retirement be they police officer, state bureaucrat or local mall retail worker, or just the run of the mill builders labourer

thanks for the info,
the difference is we used to have that, but now have a mandated national scheme that covers everyone (even part/time,causaul workers)

I'm not so sure GW would be down with a mandate - he may not even approve of a voluntary plan that has rules from the government.

True, then he will just have to get use to millions of low payed or causal or itinerant workers getting old and requiring govt. assistance when they can no longer work and keep paying for all the teachers and police officers retirements, out of govt funds

The "Greatest" generation, who surivived the great depression, fought world war 2 and then rebuilt America. Apparently not so great being parasites.

Those dam lazy government dependent socialist tratiors !!!

The libertarian judgement machine doesn't care what you believe in.

Why then, as a casual and part-time libertarian, I don't care what it believes in either.

Naw, it's true enough. Gov't tends to be more expensive, so it's really astounding when it turns out to be more efficient and such efficiencies should be leapt upon. As well, there're some goods that are worth the increased expense, because of the compounding benefits they provide, despite the initial outlay.
