Here's a Firefly class space transport form the Firefly show/Serenity movie. I think this can be used as a naval or air unit. Note: Unit is 20% smaller in the flics, compared to the preview.

seriously cool.

p.s.
I put it in my mod as a foot unit to preview it but it was defeated by a Spearman ;)

Sweet. How much of a life do you have aside from Civ? ;)

So, is Firefly actually any good? I have the show and the movie coming on netflix..

The movie is the conclusion of the show.
The show ended very abruptly, and certainly was unscheduled. From what i read on imdb, when it was first aired, the tv station that aired the show made everything possible to ruin the show because of orders from high places. They aired the episodes in random order, they postponed several episodes for weeks, the didn't show the last episode of the first(and only) season.
The reason for this ? We'll never know. But IMO the American government felt that the bad guys in the movie used to many of their own methods. The goverment in the movie is what the american-gov will be in a few hundred years.

IMHO it is the best SF series i've ever seen. It's not the most hardcore sf - meaning it doesn't have 10000000 aliens running around everywhere and it doesn't take place a million years in the future. Actually imdb says it's also a western. Here is the series' review - 9.5 is quite huge if you ask me.
Serenity the movie - is the least that could be done for the Firefly fans. The series being butchered and killed, they had to give some conclusion to the story, because the first season wasn't even finished.
It explains many things; but you don't necesarely need to see the series before the movie ... even tho it's better to view them in chronological order.
Here is the imdb about it. 8.0 out of 50000 votes is huge, especially for the outcasted sf genre.

Heretic Cata summed it up pretty well. One thing I like about Firefly is that it uses Western elements to create a unique niche in sci-fi. The characters, for the most part, are fairly complex and interesting. Special effects are done quite well with some unique aspects (ie. spaceships don't make noise in space, which is accurate as far as I know).

I watched the movie before the series and while this works OK, I wish I saw the series first. One thing about the movie is that you can watch it w/o ever having seen the show and it makes sense. There has been a big push from some hardcore fans to reinvigorate the show, and some networks (Sci-fi) are potentially interested. However, I think Fox is hanging on to its rights for some reason. There seems to be some bad blood between the Fox execs and the shows producers over how the show was handled (as mentioned above).

Anyways, thanks for the nice comments and I'm glad y'all like this unit.

However, I think Fox is hanging on to its rights for some reason.

The reason is simple. Exec don't like admitting they made a mistake and they don;t like seeing other benefiting from their mistake. If they restart firefly over at fox, they admit they made a mistake, they give up the rights others benefit from their mistake. Personally I never watched firefly when it was on fox but caught it when it was on sci fi and fell in love with it. I own both the show and movie on dvd. I just wish it would come back.

*couch*Family Guy*Cough*

They don't want that situation to happen again.

I never saw the series. In fact I'd never heard of it. But I saw the film and didn't realise it was connected to a TV series until I watched the extras on the DVD. The film was extremely good nevertheless.
