Forgetting sarah palin

He means they were both Vice Presidential Candidates and neither one won. ;)

By the way, that David Brooks moment quoted in FriendlyFire's post has to go down as one of the greatest cringe-comedy moments in Western history. You can picture just from the transcript the exact moment when he thought "Oh my God, I've said too much." David Brooks is a putz, and I relish the idea of him sitting there saying "right guys? Right?!?" while his friends look on, horrified. But really, what kind of power-worshipping sycophant do you have to be to sit at a dinner and have someone's hand on your inner thigh the whole time and you don't leave or say something. Brooks, like other professional pundits (note how he projects the "emotional freakiness" onto the politicians he's describing), is really, really weird.

Huh? First of all, Edwards never even threatedened to break third in the primaries, so your claim is factually inaccurate, but Edwards was nothing but a lying snake who cheated on his sick wife. A Romney-McCain fusion in other words. Palin on the other hand is just plain unqualified, both from her person and from her experience.

Eerrrr. Edwards was John Kerrys vice-presidential running mate in 2004. So my claim is 100% accurate.

My how quickly the young ones forget...

You do realize that's a clip from "Scarborough Country," MSNBC's morning show that's hosted by Joe Scarborough, a former Republican congressman from the Class of '94, right? Is he "horribly biased," too?

Cleo

Yeah but look who he works for. Doesn't matter if he's rightwing, you do what the man who signs your paycheck tells you to do.

I love how you have to generalize. If you watched the show, you'd know that Scarborough doesn't fit in with the rest of the MSNBC crowd. He's like their Sheppard Smith, only actually politically opposed instead of just a moderate.

David Brooks works for the NYT ? Well known republican who appears also on Jim Lehre a PBS show ? Hopefully NYT will put the squeese (pun intended) Brooks to reveal the name of the said republican senator.

Though it is perferctly legal to engage in consenting adult homosexual acts. (Brooks identified the senator as a he)

/meh it'll be interesting to see if Republicans push for Brooks to out the said senator given there anti-gay policy.

"Rest of the MSNBC crowd" is another thing. They have three hours of morning programming hosted by a Republican congressman (Scarborough). They have three hours of liberal programming in the evening (Olbermann, Maddow, "Ed"). They have two hours of moron programming (Matthews). Their news during the day is pretty normal -- heck, Alan Greenspan's wife hosts part of their mid-day news reporting.

They have liberals, unlike the other networks, but that doesn't mean that on balance, the whole network is liberal.

More on the Palin resignation:

She's a good point guard passing the ball for victory. Only dead fish go with the flow.

I understand Palin-autographed babies are selling for big bucks on eBay:

How so? Because I don't like the horribly unfunny John stewart? Or Billy Joel?

Explaining why is against the forum rules, but needless to say, you're a poor example of someone from Long Island.

To be honest, I don't find Stewart all that funny. But mocking Sarah Palin is like playing on "Easy" mode. Any half-decent comedian can have the audience rolling on the ground, actually hurting from laughter just by reporting on her doings.

Because it's not actually over. She'll be back. We're just lining the ducks up in a row to knock over when the time comes.

Goodness I hope you're right. What fun! Bring back Tina Fey, too!

But here's the thing about Sarah Palin: we're not pissed off. We're laughing. :)

:yup:
