Forum Upgraded! Post questions and problems here

I got an odd page when I tried to see who voted what in a public poll.

Link?

@sloz - Not much use if you're not into seeing the Gallery. Nice for the Civ forums tho.

When I'm reading the posts, I see
multiquote_off.gif
in my peripheral vision, and I wonder what that penguin is. :crazyeye:

its the button to multi-quote :)

I have a weird thing happening, on a lot of threads I go in, the scroll (left to right) automaticaly scrolls to the far right.

I don't know if its a local problem though.

I know, it just reminds me of a penguin when I see it out of the corner of my eye! Hence the :crazyeye:

Oh noes, Tux is invading the site!

Grab your poison-tipped umbrellas, everyone, we must defend our homeland.

There are some new forum buttons ...

  • quote
  • multi-quote
  • quick reply to this message
I can take a guess at 'quote' and 'quick reply' but what does multi-quote do for you? I also notice that 'quote' and 'multi-quote' also now insert a link to the original message.

Quote and Quick Reply to this Message are not new.
Multi-Quote is a new feature. :)

but what does multi-quote do for you?
Multi-quote lets you quote multiple posts at once, allowing you to respond to them in the same post.

The way to use it is first click the multi-quote button for each post you want to respond to, then either click "Quote" button of any of the selected posts, or click the "Post Reply" button.

Thx for answering my question Thunderfall.

And even better that you gave me a worked example.

What I really like to do is break up someone's post (see this post for an example) into different segments and answer then one at a time. I have to do a bit of cut and paste at the moment to do that - is there some forum tool that can help with this?

This whole thread was flagged "not read" today, even though I've already posted in it. A bug or a hick up...

That resets when there are new posts in it. My new post will make it seem like this thread has not been read.

Why are both these columns dark grey? They weren't that way before... :hmm: I liked more the old look.

And do we really have to wait 60 seconds if the search returned no results? (I didn't have time to test it)

Yeah ... its aggravating when you did a simple mistake in your search.

maybe shortening it to 30 sec.

BTW nice avvie TF :goodjob:

Yep, happened to me just now. Is this a bug?
EDIT: AAAUUUGGGHHH!!! I clicked all the posts I wanted to multi-quote and they didn't show up when I used quick reply. I thought this was supposed to work that way.
EDIT2: Here they are...

It happened to me too last night.

No, as it has been previously stated in this thread, you need to hit the 'quote' or 'post reply' button.
