Spoiler :
This morning on Fox & Friends, Fox News aired a straight-up, unadulterated four-minute attack ad mocking Obama's "Hope and Change" message and cataloguing the purported failures of his administration, complete with ominous music, depressing charts, and voiceover audio of Mitt Romney attacking him. Not someone else's ad, mind you—this was actually an in-house production of Fox News, involving weeks of work by a Fox staffer.

Are they even trying to seem fair anymore? I haven't been keeping up too often.

Since when did Fox News try to "seem fair"? Fox News has always been an incessant attack on the Democratic Party. The only thing slightly different is the format.

Nobody watches Fox News except a handful of over-aged members of the far-right who would never vote for Obama anyway. But who knows? Perhaps they will decide to run their propaganda on other networks that independents actually watch.

Yes, I would. Their demographis show their average watcher is over 65, and I can't imagine anybody who was not also a member of the far-right making a conscientious choice to be one of the 2 million people to watch their propaganda on a given day other than for a few laughs.

You know Fox news probably wouldnt get mocked half as much if they didnt have the nerve to slap FAIR AND BALANCED all over the place.

I watch Fox. But I do it to be edgy and cool.

Well I used to when I had cable.

Well that's... blatant.

Perhaps this is one of those timeslots that is not intended to be 'news'.
(Would post Daily Show clip but I honestly have no idea what I'm looking for.)

I think the shows they run in the evening are funnier than what Comedy Central puts out.

I still prefer Comedy Central, if for nothing else than their comedy presenters have actual charm.

This. This show is more like a Regis and Kathy Lee knockoff than a real news show. They often do a lot of tongue in cheek kind of stuff as well.

But lets see. Foxnews has a conservative spin. Imagine that.

I'm sure if they've violated some regulation or other over this, that we will hear about that as well. But if we dont.....

Once again though the problem is they are the only network that goes out of its way to make a big deal of how it DOESNT have a spin. That is what makes fox news a joke, not the actual spin itself, the blatant lie everyone can see through. MSNBC doesnt pretend before every segment that they are balanced.

Hey, we've improved from the Fair and Balanced slogan being defended to "well duh!" That's progress right there!

We should react positively to this newfound realisation

They really should change their names from Fox News to Weasel News, being fair and balanced and all...

Except, you know, it has some of the the most watched news programs in the USA.

What do you watch? MSNBC?

MSNBC and Foxnews' reputations of fairness in question?! NEVER!!!

That's not 'tongue in cheek', though. Late night shows mess with footage all the time to make a joke. What they did here though is a legitimate attack ad, as melodramatic and dishonest as the real thing.
