Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Sometimes a ban notificiation says "The ban will be lifted some day at 11:00 a.m." But it 11:35 or something before the ban is lifted. Why does this happen?

Different time zones.. an also I think a moderator has to manually unban you.

That time is an approximation, to the nearest hour I believe. The actual ban is lifted exactly when the duration of the ban ends. So, if you were banned and 11:59 on Saturday and got a week ban, the ban will end 7 days later at 11:59.

Moderators do not have to manually unban people except when a ban is lifted early or other extenuating circumstances are involved, such as a perm ban being lifted.

That sounds a bit... extreme. :crazyeye:
That was because back in those days, there're like only 2 ISPs in Norway and when we IP-banned one, naturally half the users in Norway lost their access. When we realized what had happened it was quickly lifted of course.

How can you spam if you are banned?

The only way to return early from a ban, permanent or otherwise, is of course to overturn the infractions against you.
By the time we're talking about PBing, it's no longer simply a matter of infractions... so no, overturning infractions won't help you here. :p

Sure it can be - that's what the 'fast track' is all about, isn't it?

If I turn off my PM, would they block all PMs including the annoying infraction notices?

I doubt it. The staff wants you to know that you were infracted, so they could probably bypass the block.

Messages fr mods can't be blocked I think.

And if you think infractions are annoying, why don't you try to improve on your posting so that you don't get them? Not all that hard I shld think...

If there were a clear relationship between the quality of a post and its infractibility that would make more sense. ;)

Because the Colosseum is an addendum to the site, not the focus of it. You'll notice the links up the top lead largely to site content; they replicate the home page links. The Colosseum is just a forum without that site content, and without home page links.

How do I delete an image I've posted in the Gallery? It has no views or comments... I can't actually remember why I put it up, and the Images entry in my user thingy on the left annoys me. Is reporting it the way to go?

Apparently it doesn't have a delete option.

Yes, I'd appreciate if you could do that for me. Thanks :)

Thanks, much appreciated :)

Could you do the same for me? I was trying to post in Political Cartoons before I knew how to copy image URL's, so it's really a tad embarrassing for me.

Hmm, perhaps you're right. I should place a serious effort on improving my posting style .
