Funny Screenshots: Part Deux

maybe, just maybe, its because you need biology in RFC (which i stated it was)

I've never played RFC, so I didn't catch that. Still, it seems unusual not to have even Biology that late into the game, but, it's also been a long time since I've played archipelago maps, so maybe that would explain it, also.

If you play Archipelago maps with small islands, everything is slowed down due to each city only having a few land tiles.

I can't think of a funny caption for this one.

"Dear building contractor

I specifically wrote : build a bridge over the water, NOT water over the bridge!"

The Governor

ps. Once our esteemed scientists have found a way for paying (they call it currency I believe) you will NOT get a dime (or cent, or penny or whatever the scientists decide to call it)

Nothing like a cool, refreshing glass of horse pee. Now if only we could figure out how to pay for it...

I was gonna say it looks like York's sewer is London's drinking water

Dear Dorks from York,

Our fishermen have been complaining about your fishermen poaching our Clams. You have your own sources of seafood, so please stick to them.

In expectation of your normal blatant disregard for our letters and their contents, we have erected a protective barrier that clearly demarcates the area in which you are not allowed to fish.

Yes, it was indeed an amusing practical joke for you to have your horses pee on top of our demarcation barrier, but the barrier will withstand such insults and will remain in place. Those who choose to disregard the barrier's purpose shall be shot on sight*.

Maybe you will come up with more clever ways to devote your time once you finally build yourselves a house of books.

Sincerely,
The Geeks from London.

* Shot by an arrow, of course.

Dear Undone from London,

Your years of envious stares across the sea upon our bountiful shores have dulled your wits. For you will recall that it was the animal-loving people of York who first cultivated the clam beds over which you now claim ownership. It is our springs that you siphon with your water bridge (to which, it is true, we add a special ingredient just for you).

And now, even as the dawn of enlightenment opens upon our wondrous lands with the erection of our library, you fear to be outdone yet again. And so you build your own library and dare to call it a "great" library. How sad for you, to resort to naming some banal thing great in the hope that others will think it so.

Mockingly yours,

The pork from York

Dear Dorks from York and Geeks from London,

Give us tribute or else!

Sincerely, the AI

P.S.

The Horse Pee Bridge looks stupid.

Dear Londonnerds and Yorkdorks:

You guys are totally stealing our thunder. 720 AD was planned out centuries in advance to be our big culture-expanding celebration. Plus we just elected a new sheriff to deal with the ruffians out in the nearby forest. Your little pissing contest (literally... eww) is making England look bad.

Sincerely,
Nothing(ham) rhymes with Nottingham

Is anyone going to put up a funny screenshot because it's starting to become a funny caption thread here. And yes, you CAN blame me. :crazyeye:

It seems to me that you people have it backwards. It is London's sewer that runs into York's aqueduct. After all, London is on a hill and York is not. Water, with or without horse pee, does not generally run uphill (regardless of the details of the aqueduct graphic which have it running a bit uphill to get from the water plot to York's flatland plains plot).

Yeah, I was feeling the same but didn't say anything because I didn't want to be a buzzkiller and not even post an image. But really, Civ4luvah is right, enough puns please.

This image is from Rise of Mankind a couple versions back, before they patched the sizes of the Arcologies:

 Imagine the entire planet being domed.... Now we won't have to worry about asteroid impacts.

Ruffians Rule!! :rockon::banana::banana:

My caption with the London / York screenshot is 'where are all the other cities - its 720AD for goodness sake!

They were laid waste by a bunch of mean-spirited (yet beautiful) Irish ruffian-ettes. :p
