which makes it completely useless ... basic Spearman allready wins easily over Chariot, and giving it a higher win chance against attacking Chariots is just unessecary overkill, while they still loose towards axemen

... AI's have no problems sailing to another island/continent to settle, even if its through one/more enemy civs ... its only if its through land they rarely want to do it

True but it makes them more realistic. I never understood why they replaces Axes instead of Spears in BTS.

I have seen Charlemagne do it once on an Earth2 where Europe was full to the brim. He marched through Bismark's, mine (was playing Alex), Cathy's, Cyrus', Ham's, Genghis', and Qin's territory to found his third city in the frozen north just north of the Kamchatka peninsula. (land so barren the other AIs were ignoring it completely)

There never was any hut there. The Civ IV AIs teleport around their units within their borders. It's a clever way of making the game more challenging, but in such a way that it's nearly hidden to players.

that should be quite easy to check ... World build a start where one of the AI's is stuck behind a mountain chain around his inner circle of his BFC to see if he gets another place that way

No worldbuilder use here, just the AI teleporting its people around.

Welcome to CFC, buddy. :D

I hope you'll like it here.

LOL the AI might have had advance technology given to them by aliens... :P

It might have been popped out of dutch territory at some time of the game ... say 2 cultural expansions ago of Utrech, as mysty said. No mystery in here :p

It would be fun, but no :p

Financial + GA + colossus = moneybags.

Pardon me, but what does GA stand for, normally I catch on to these quick, but all I can guess that stands for is Great Artist, but that doesn't make sense!

That doesn't explain how the coastal plots get +2 (5 instead of 3) but the ocean plots get +3 (4 instead of 1).

As far as I know, there is no way to do such a thing in unmodded Civ. Therefore he is using a mod that has something that gives +1 commerce on ocean plots but not coastal plots, or -1 commerce on coastal plots but not ocean plots.

Since he is using a mod, it is possible that the Pikeman could have just walked to where he is over the peak since some mods make it possible to move across peaks, often after some tech is researched (like Mountaineering, for example).

What are you talking about? Coastal tiles typically yield 2 commerce, ocean tiles 1.

Financial + GA + colossus = moneybags.
So ...

Coastal yield = 2 (normal yield) + 1 (colossus) + 1 (financial) + 1 (golden age) = 5
Ocean yield = 1 (normal yield) + 1 (colossus) + 1 (financial) + 1 (golden age) = 4

Stupid AI exhibit #34532432, he moved from the original location 1 SE of Timbuktu (I WB checked the 4000bc save), gave up working the fish, the clam, the gold and spend an extra turn so he could settle on a hill.

Lamb chops are worth their weight in Gold! And Clams and Fish, combined, apparently.
