I have a sensation AdamCrook plays C2C. Although I played it like 5 mins (because that's the max I can play on a standard map!), I have heard that the amount of cash you can get around renaissance and industrial age can be girnormous.

Probably to the fact there is plenty of time to mature the civilization compared to normal BTS.

But my memories say to me he said RI, so I'm confused and too lazy to go back and find the answer.

Its neither ;) Its VIP mod. The strange thing is that I just did a game on Normal Speed, and I was struggling more or less the entire game with gold slider on around 50-60% most of the time. This seems to be Epic speed, and it looks like it needs some serious balancing.

Hmnn. Only if your designing for different speeds. I play on epic, and pretty much follow what AC does to get gold, especially early game. The AI also has a habit of doing this in a city or two as well, especially Mali. In my last game I just finished, Musa was vassaled to China, and the four cities I took over from him more than covered my stack costs. Take a look at some FIN AI leaders your next game Vinz (Mon or higher diff), you'll see what I mean, especially by the MED era.

well I guess your Egyptians don't need to invent beer...

and some Irony :D
Spoiler :

Another creepy thing is that I have another ongoing game with the Persians. (Detailed in the story in my signature) In both games, my starting settler spawned on the tile south of a Freshwater Lake, on plains, with a river, on the left side, ending 1 South of the starting tile. And with forests to the West.

Yes it is epic speed, VIP mod ;) Also I have pretty much vassalized every civ on continent ;) It's only warlord difficulty because I was affraid i would suck at one of my first playthrough for the mod (well Im doing pretty good so obviously warlord is too low for me) - also I have noticed that my maintenance for the number of cities is "stuck" on 5.0 (I should pay half the maintenance costs for vasalls too ? idk maybe it is because of a low difficulty) I have also got the carpenetrs guild (+1 free specialist for every lumbermill - very powerful!) which has a very nice synergy with mercantilism +1 gold for each specialist :) Since I got all of them vassalized trade is really a huge factor - I got every resource there is (for current tech level) and buildings like markets and banks and grocers profit from resources I have also started to trade for services guild charter with vassals for my clerks guild and it seems to net me even more profit from that guild. Profits seemed to build up and my economy skyrocketed. Here is a screenshot for an average mature city building up wealth, (scientists building up research and wealth -> with mercantilism +1 gold for each one ;) ) - You can see the maintenance is really low for the number of cities - I think it's because of the warlord difficulty.

I did counter some of it in 0.93 with huge (compared to vanilla) civic costs based on population and amount of cities, plus I changed the # of city cost maintenance which was really low.
In my current game I played the Normal (x2 building&unit costs) and it seems to be better with all the extras that is in VIP, so I think I change Epic to x2 as well, which would take care of some of the "idleness".

I just reinstalled Civ IV on my laptop and this is the first game I've played in many months.

I just got a Great Spy and look what his name is...

Spoiler :

Despite the fact I have a city named Cincinatti, I'm actually playing as the English (my cities have American city names cos I felt like it lol). So to have a guy named that who is a Great Spy is funny

^WB for those tanks ya got there?

Some pics:
Spoiler :

1 Machine Gun vs. Saladin's entire invasion force:

Those hammers he wasted on ships could have been used elsewhere while I BURNED HIS ENTIRE NATION TO THE GROUND!! :mwaha:

I can't find the photo anywhere but once when playing I decided to go for a conquest victory and left Montezuma for last. That was a bad idea for when I finally attacked him it took hours due to the sheer number of units that he had in his cities.(One of them had nearly 300 units in it.)

Yeah, there were some annoying barbs hanging around that kept avoiding me everytime I tried to kill them so I put in those tanks to kick their asses and forgot to delete them

LMAO the same thing happened to me but with De Gaulle! He'd been nuking people and one of his cities had like 200 nukes stored up in it

Aww, nobody except my vassal really likes me :(

Spoiler :

Plus, right before this I put forward a vote to stop the war against me, everybody voted yes except Caesar who I was at war with... and I declared war on him. You'd think he'd want to stop the war considering I forced it on him :p And now I think it's weird everybody voted yes to stop the war considering none of them really seem to like me HAHA.

This is from a riverworld map i made. My city really thinks water from a mine will be cleaner than from the river right next to it?

A little over 4 years ago, I started modding Civ IV.
Almost 3 years ago I started VIP (Vincentz Infinite Projects) as a standalone mod, using the modmods I made for ROM (Rise of Mankind)
and today.... I won in VIP for the first time ever :D

ok, maybe not funny ha ha, but the irony in winning only once in a game after 4 years of work on it, well....
