Wait, how do you finish building the Wall before the barbs get their turn again?

:science: and :hammers: are calculated at the end of the turn you are playing, not the beginning of the next. So, if you have 1-turn to build the Great Wall and press enter while barbs are standing next to your city, the wonder completes, kicks the barbarians out before they can attack, and the next AI then begins their turn.

For the same reason, if both the human and one AI are building the same wonder, and both are due to finish on the same turn, the human will always be the one to actually build it.

I wasn't sure, and I always figured it happened at the beginning of the next because that was when you actually went around selecting new builds and research... now I know.

So how come the settler didn't get captured the turn before you settled?

Nah, I've seen worse city placement:

That's not worse city placement at all, and if it is I fail to see it due to lack of resource bubbles.

Because the barbs moved next to the settler after it moved? The settler obviously hadn't moved yet in the first screenshot, because the second shows the city being founded.

So the sequence is settler moves->end turn->three barbs move next to settler->found city->end turn->GW completes->barbs kicked out and mill about rather than raise new city.

Not really.

Culture flip.

In the same vein, units that are completed can defend in the interturn.

OMG 4000 BC save for that map please!

Ermm, I know the price of oil has fallen. But, umn, not quite that far yet, thanks.

Bro, seriously, your gonna burst a blood vessel or possibly shake your feathers off.

^^^^ :rotfl:

Not really funny, but has anyone of you ever seen a pangaea that's shaped like this one?

Spoiler :

It has a large sea as the centre of the map. It even has seafood and everything, one could say that the continent is shaped like a big donut ^^ .
