So Persia and I are at war with Portugal. During the AI turn Persia makes peace with Portugal and gifts them one of their cities I just liberated for them.
My turn starts with my units finding themselves in a Portuguese city. Which with mind you I'm still at war. :D
Turns out ending a turn with units in a city doesn't conquer it.

Waterslide aqueducts. Ulmanis is getting back to the roots of the thread. :goodjob:

Is it just me, or is that Grenadier looking rather wistfully at said water slide?

You got one thinking about skiing, one thinking about hiking in the woods, and one thinking about riding on the waterslide. The only thing they can agree on is they don't wanna be standing in the desert.

That's not wistful, it's lustful. Hatshepsut just went down the slide in a bikini.

My computer is not internet connected so I can't provide a screen shot, but felt I'd share a strange bug/glitch. I'm playing as Toku, went to upgrade my Samurai to Rifleman. Instead of receiving +20% city defense, my Rifleman have 0-1 first strike, +10 strength, +20% city strength, +25% vs mounted. ( +20% city strength ), anyone else seen this bug/glitch?

We are no longer at war. You lost, remember?

This unsettling juxtaposition of units occurred in a Multiplayer PBEM:

Perfect.

Spoiler :
In the Schiller play, you actually never see William Tell shoot the apple, because an opinionated nobleman conveniently takes the spotlight to explain that he serves the Holy Roman Emperor faithfully, but not those who abuse their authority in his service. Just as he draws his sword (announcing "I have a sword, and whoever gets close --"), someone else points out that the apple has fallen. :mischief:

^^
So the apple fell and not the man either that or both the apple and the man fell. That sounds biblical and familiar.

I didn't even see the best on those 3 screenshots, being that on #1, AI sent a Worker to improve the 1-tile-island ^^ Maybe he can go swimming and catch the whales by beating them with his shovel :D .

Two horse archers in such a small city. He'll use his shovel, allright, but I don't think it will be pleasant work :cringe:

It appears that British Army Engineers have developed a new form of desert trenches !

I think that might be quicksand.
