It's only been two days since the last post. Jeesh, I guess you've become more Impatient New Yawka, than Laid Back Aussie. :p
No - actually, I ask because of this.

Yeah, that's a usurption alright.

But it needed to be done. Post 4021?

so is this an official abandonment of this thread?

This one is dead when a mod tells us to close it, not when one of us arbitrarily decides.

Btw, time flies, doesn't it? Seems like yesterday that we started this thing.

A new use for City Ruins! I normally keep City Ruins around if Random Events are turned on and if the square falls outside of my big fat crosses and it does not contain a Resource (i.e. when I have no incentive to improve the square). That way, I have the chance of getting the Random Event that gives +15% to your current Research item.

However, in this game Random Events were turned off and I was having a terrible struggle against Immortal-level AIs, so I didn't even have time to pave over the City Ruins (they were in my big fat cross of a City that I'd resettled). I was more than happy to see an AI waste its attack on this target, rather than the improvement that had been targeted the last 3 times: my sole Gold Mine (meaning a loss of 1 to 2 Happiness empire-wide, plus the 1 Hammer and 6 Commerce from the square itself).

Yes - this was not really enemy spies, it was clearly a case of academic jealousy between archaeology departments of rival universities!

"We could cave in your mines. We could burn your crops. We could even set your oil wells on fire. But we've got something much more nefarious in mind: ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE CONTAMINATION!!!" :mwaha:

That was a typo though - they meant the Aardvark of the Covenant.

I got a little drunk and decided to take the Olifant out for a spin ... the thing is good on the straights but it cannot turn for @#%@

It farts hammers and bread though, so you are OK!

Dude!!! When your 'rents find out you're going to be sooooo busted.

It's not as bad as the workers hitting cows over the head EDIT: with hammers! whilst having "jiggy time" with them.

Laugh now, but it kept you from uncovering the Ark of the Covenant.

There's some Nazis who had their faces melted off back in '36 that would like you to know that leaving the Ark hidden was actually a good thing.

You can call me immature, but when I saw the name of this city, I think I rolled on the floor laughing.
(Variation of Bangkok? I know Bangkok, but this is way worse)

I'm kind of stupid.

I don't understand.

Explain.
