Nothing 2 tactical nukes couldn't handle :D Btw, I've never seen 45000 gold in my life in this game (beware, it caps at 99000 afaik :) ) You should spend it for rush buys or up your research.

Hehe I'm on turn 1000 now, I spent a lot of that gold on upgrading my units!

No idea why I have so much either, it's not like I don't spend it :undecide:

And I've got some nukes stored up for when De Gaulle and I finally go to war :p

De Gaulle goes nuke crazy... nuking the hell out of Gandhi! Seriously, before these 3 nukes he nuked him another 10 times or so

And why is there an executive of some sort STANDING in the fallout? Is he crazy?

(he also nuked Hannibal, and one turn after one of Hannibal's cities that was in the fallout zone revolted to me... I don't really want a city full of nuclear fallout thank you :p)

Hmmm... I might be interested in buying whateve product that is he is selling. Anything to save me from the French nukes!

I wanted to bribe MM into DoWing ZY to soften them both prior to their assimilation later, but he kept declining and eventually I lost my tech advantage, so I scrolled down and thought, "oh well I'll just try a trade embargo then, surely he'll be more open to that, what with ZY under a heathen religion" ... :dubious:

It's no surprise that he didn't go for it. He's half asleep! :D

Some very weird border action going on here. This is what happens when nukes are used by three different leaders and then cities are conquered

Also that city right in my border, it's 99% English but still hasn't revolted over to me yet :undecide:

Gandhi, after being nuked by De Gaulle (see up the thread) is now dead and gone, and so is that prat Hannibal who'd been declaring war on me all game. I said I'd wait till another civ got rid of him for me and it worked :p Caesar is somehow still alive, he has one city left on an island, obviously De Gaulle is too lazy to send boats over to conquer it

Wow, a war the French are not getting their arses handed back to them.

Jesus, litterally. Going for cultural victory much?

Sorry Izzy. Not without a few drinks and some dancing...

This type of request is not uncommon.

The reason this happens is because everything is considered a number to the AI. And a partially researched tech is only considered a smaller fraction of the whole tech in value. In the AIs mind, a tech which they have 80% researched is only worth 20% of the total value to them. Therefore this is a legitimate trade.

The next reason is because the AI is programmed to request trades with the played only every so many turns. This is to prevent the AI from bugging you every turn. This is also why, with many active AIs, you get tons of requests all at the same time.

In the screenshot Lemon Merchant posted, it just so happened that the "lets make a deal" showed up when Isabella was nearly done with Currency, so its value was extremely low for Isabella. In fact, you can see that she is 2 turns away from finishing it!

To use this information to your advantage, the AI "knows" how far away you are from finishing a tech, and adjusts their trades accordingly. If the AI won't give up a high beaker technology for a reasonable price, try putting a few turns of research into it. You might not be able to save 25 turns of research, but perhaps you can save 21 turns.

Edit: May as well add a funny picture if I'm going to post here.
