actually there isn't, the only choke point available is east of Constantinople (or rather Byzantium since a few turns) and that is behind gallic lines! Nope, if I wanted to stave them off I would have to use the same tactic I used when Egypt came knocking. Put my entire army on one hill tile and wait as the enemy suicides everything against it. When Egypt did it we both had so many troops that the battle for that hill took 10 mins of continuous animations . problem with Gaul is I also have to contend with Rome, Dacia, Germania and Greece :p

This is a warning

Only proceed to Calcutta at your own risk.

Stay indoor and lock your doors and windows at night.

Ah yes, still waters run deep in that part of the world! ;)

So what improvement do you build when you discover wild Firearms???!

Workshops (though light factory can also create Alcohol iirc.)
The odds for a "discover" is rather low, so when I got 2 in the same turn AND on the same city AND this ehm, "not so good mix", I had to post it. Calcutta is actually on a 5 tile small island, which makes the odds even more amazing.

And looking over my map, I saw the biggest AI canal I have ever seen. Since the AI isnt programmed for making canals, this, feat, becomes even more impressive.
I love how it finishes in a oilreserve surrounded by 3 reefs.

Warning : VERY big picture

actually I saw in their AI the other day while looking for places to put my own AI code for my mod, that they have a bCanal parameter for fortTerritory or something, so it appears they are programmed for it ;)

edit: but this seems like typical AI luck to me, wanted to hook up the oil but hates oil rigs, and cities placed in convenient spots. I wonder what a real AI canal would look like :p never seen one before

Well, it was two different civs working together to build a canal, so yes, probably luck.

Huge archipelago maps can get some odd religious distributions.

Settings: Huge, marathon, archipelago, monarch. Izzy and HC hogged the early religions.

@ Lennier:

What does the MSNE in Amsterdam's title bar mean?

I believe he's reminding himself to build Moai Statues and National Epic there. Although if he wasn't already building NE in that city, I'd probably be clueless too. :mischief:

In that case he's messed up since Rotterdam also specifies NE and you can't build it twice. Unless he is planning on having his capital taken from him. He is, however building the HE in Rotterdam.

MulattoMaker is almost correct. I've already built the Moi Statues there and am building the National Epic. I've got to go back and correct Rotterdam NE to be Rotterdam HE. Thanks God-Emperor.

MSNA stands for "My Super" National Epic ! :D
