"Il s'appelle La Boîte," said Richard.

"..."

"Est-ce qu'il y a une problème?"

"...You're Chinese."

"And?"

"What kind of self-respecting Chinese guy speaks French? Have you no shame?"

"Come on Carl, I took four years of French in high school."

"I don't care, you're Chinese. You should have been taking Chinese."

"I already speak Chinese, I don't need to take an easy class and pass. I thought you were Chinese. You're supposed to learn things that you've never known before in school."

"...But French?"

"Don't worry about it."

"Anyway, what do you have for me today? As your Chief Financial Officer, I assume it has something to do with money."

"Totally. We're unveiling this new console."

"Really?"

"No, I'm a lying jerk. Of course. Kenji-saaaaaaan!"

"What the hell, a Japanese guy?"

"Dude, you have no idea. They're kickass programmers."

"Hasty generalization."

"Touché. But regardless, the lead programmer's Kenji. Kenji Sa-"

"Does it give you a kick making the head programmer do grunt work?"

"I wouldn't do it otherwise."

"Is it because he's-"

"Let's not get into that."

They stood around in uncomfortable silence for eleven more seconds. Kenji came strolling in with a cart, a cloth, something under the cloth, and a bad haircut.

"Hey guys," he said. He was handsome despite the terrible haircut. Carl guessed that it was because of his staying up all night on this secret project or whatever.

Richard unveiled the project rather triumphantly.

"...It's a box."

Kenji and Richard looked at each other like Greek lovers men who knew something and laughed.

"What?"

"That's what she said!" they both said, slapping their knees. Carl could feel a headache coming on.

"And she is..."

"My wife," from Richard. "My girlfriend," from Kenji. But he was grinning. Probably going to get married soon, thought Carl.

"Anyway. What is it?"

"The Box."

"Yes, that box."

"No, The Box."

"The box?"

"The Box."

"Okay." Carl was beginning to regret his lifestyle choices at this stage of the conversation.

"Look," said Richard, adopting a condescending tone that didn't fit him properly, "it's a cool new video game system. It's all sleek and black and stuff."

"Okay."

"And we're releasing it soon."

"Okay."

"And we already got an exclusive."

"Great. What'd you need me here for?"

"I thought the CFO should check out our baby. You know?"

"No, I don't." And he walked away.

Looking for Entertainment

"What it is. What it is, yo."

"What the hell? You're white."

"Jackson, why you gotta be racist like that?"

"Uh... no. You were making fun of African-Americans by mocking their speech."

"Oh, so you're saying that all black people talk like that? And besides, not all people with African descent are Americans. Nice job, Captain Stereotype."

"Dammit. Working in Los Angeles could be a problem."

"Give me that report."

"What report? It's just you, me, and 14 other guys working in rented office."

"Well, at least I'm paying you, right? Just make up a report if you have to."

"I do have to. Why does it have to be so hard?"

"That's what she said."

"..."

"..."

"God damn it."

----------------------------------------------------------------

Edward Mann wasn't the smartest or the strongest, but he wasn't the dumbest or weakest either, statistically speaking. He would say he was mediocre. So, this self-proclaimed mediocre man had just opened up a video game company in Downtown Los Angeles. The office was situated in a small three story building, on the third floor, to the right, but the landlady was nice enough to let them use the roof during break, and, or, as Edward told the employees, whatever purpose they saw fit to utilize, and he was thinking about being more or less inclined to go bungee jumping. But he had decided not to about two hours ago.

Now he was in his office, with his feet folded neatly on top of his desk, thinking about what he should do for the next five hours. The lunch was just over. And according to Department of Commerce and Labor, he was to let them go five o'clock, sharp.

He was particularly proud of the naming of his company. Mann Entertainment had a slightly funny connotation to it, and Ed couldn't help but to be proud of the pun he thought was so cleverly placed. He grinned at the thought of perplexed men throughout Los Angeles calling his companying thinking of purchasing things other than video games.

"Alright, ladies!" he exclaimed at the employees returning from the roof at the end of the lunch, even though all of them were males, "Back to work! YARGGGH."

He thought he was an extremely funny guy, and a great boss at that, for his badly-done pirate imitation.

Decloak: Wouldn't it be third generation? The second generation would be the Atari 2600 and such.

I know, but he called the other consoles first generations, when technically they are second... Whatever the MOD says...

How much does 1ep cost, in terms of real US dollars?

They don't really represent a specific amount.

Technically, you and erez87 are correct, but for simplicities' sake, I decided to use the name "first generation" for the first batch of consoles in this NES.

BTW, welcome erez87!
------------------------------------

I have begun to work on the update. If you don't have orders in, you can try to send them in before I am finished with the update, otherwised your company shall be NPC'd for this turn.

Erez you shouldn't even be able to develop that console yet. Even if you did I could wait 3 years and start mine and have them released at the same time. You can't have that large a head start or leap in tech this early.

sp1023: The points were put into place to eliminate the dollar. They have no set value.

@everyone else: Some of you seem to not understand the concept of 8 bit games.

Ok by me... I don't even want to start with the first generation :)

@erez87: Developing a new console from scratch like that will take a long time. I haven't decided how long, yet.
