Perfect Dark, or Knights of the Old Republic (which given its pedigree would stand a decent shot at a good budget if nothing else.)
I just think it wouldn't really feel like Homeworld if they had a traditional portrayal of characters. If they made a Homeworld movie, the only time you should see the characters would be when they showed them in the game(i.e.: when the Kushan landed on Hiigara, Karan being fused to the Mothership). Other than that, you should only hear the dialog between the ships. While we're at it, the dialog should sound like they are talking through a radio, just like the game.
I agree though, Karan would be hot.
EDIT: Plus if they did it the way I am suggesting, then they could just bring in the voice actors from the game, to ease the translation from game to film even more. Campbell Lane FTW!

but that will be the problem, if its only about spacecraft, it will probably looks nice "game in space"... -_-" or maybe they can do something like beowulf... thats another compromise...
another game i thought might be cool will be Bioshock, or system shock, or how about Torment Scape !!! the ultimate RPG !!

Yeah, you're right, that would be a problem, that's why there will never be a Homeworld movie.
Seeing as Hollywood seems to be stuck on making movies with epic battle scenes, Supreme Commander might not be too bad of a movie. That is, of course, as long as all you want out of a movie are massive battles, giant death robots, and liberal use of nuclear weapons.
funny no one mentioned Max Payne... though it's already a movie in it's own right I guess.
a Baldurs Gate movie would be nice though still rather impossible because you can never appease all the fans (i.e. who's the main char going to be, and who's going to support him on his travels). That and it's one of my favourite games and really rather don't want to see it arseraped. (same with knights of the old republic)
Monkey Island would be cool indeed. or a Vampire the Masquarede game.
two good movie adaptions by the way are in my opinion Silent Hill, and Resident Evil (all three of them - though the first was by far the best).

I think Shogun would make an excellent movie. It has a great setting, battles and characters with (some) personality. It would also have a great climax (dramatic battle scene, European arrival).
