Still hard to comprehend how people can believe white nationalists or Russian agents are behind the violence. I've never seen Fox News or Republican governors promoting QAnon nuttery, but everyone somehow knows it's the right that promotes conspiracies.
*Behind*? No. "Fomenting" would be a different story.
We literally have seen distant intelligence services creating fake information and providing coordination for tension-raising activities.
It's deliberate. It's on your feed too. And the faster we forward those memes, the more effective they are. It's a very impressive tactic, if your goal is destruction.
The people providing any moral support for selfish or unclear violence aren't helping. "Understanding" is going to be different from "endorsing".
But thinking there aren't hostile forces that are turning the people-on-the-ground into disposable paws (and that you're not their target as well) is a bit of a DK error.
