[RD] George Floyd and protesting while black

Considering recent history and the infamous poison water supply I was pleasantly shocked to find out Flint MI happened to be a real bright spot. I make fun of Gennessee Sheriff Chris Swanson because he's never met a camera he doesn't love and is always hamming on the local news but I have massive respect for how he handled this. This a short article worth the read if you want to know how a PD with actual good apples should handle these protests.

truly at fault those who call for rebellion . You will be crushed without mercy or anything . You don't have the means , instead of being half of US , you will be immediately less then half of a percent . Your efforts will only justify the suppression and covering of yet more theft (of what you and people you belong to and people you care for deserve) of the wealth your country produces . Expecting foreign help is futile , now that a very great majority of the world leadership is owned by White House , iregardless of the question who resides there in the moment . Even China will not lift a finger , they gave up discovering North America because of some warning of over-extending in some ancient text , older than Sun Tzu . (And in the old days of CFC ı would suffer for saying Zheng He ...) They will of course take advantage of your own death in taking over in yet another mining license in Africa . As if the whole world does not know there are millions of idiots in America who think they can lob nuclear weapons around and they will get away with it . Some of those idiots are even in high places . And yes , the most horrible thing CHP did to A-K-P was their 70 odd old year leader walking some 450 or 480 kilometers in the summer heat . Peaceful protests DO work but it takes real patience . Violent protests DO fail when some jerks go and loot their neighbour's shop . (Poster had some intense years of being accused of plotting everything in the country , most recently of bringing in the Soviet Airpower to Libya to prevent New Turkey winning a yet another victory but the tension has eased quite a bit after an endless US State Department presence around , so you people SHOULD know people are paying attention to CFC , but we all are much happier without any Saudi diplomatic presence in the forums...) And nicely or sadly depending on one's taste , not all Americans are criminals on both sides of the current divide , just like not all Americans are angels on both sides of the current divide . Being angry at the injustice is one of the things that make us better than animals , but do not give in to temptations and the like . Trump is an idiot , he can and should be voted out . What you are witnessing are what the Langley Boys have been puppetmastering at your colonies for ages . Extreme amount of experience in that , they do have . Poster remembers the wows of the Opposition Presidential candidate to have 50 000 lawyers at election headquarters to prevent the theft of the election and the radio report that there was no one there on the night . And the greatest insult to the candidate was actually in my town where they hang his oversize picture on a building and the owner rejected to do the same for the PM and his building was razed , naturally . Ever heard of building owners having a surge of satisfaction on owning buildings , because they "resemble" you know what ? Moral of the story? Affiliations are not always what they might seem and in my country everybody tells this all backwards , but you can suddenly find yourself sold , by your allies and stuff , in all walks of life . Enough with inciting and whatever , CFC people , you are not contributing anything to what you are to be doing for this November . Yeah , you will have a lot more grounds to incite before the 4th November to come , if this like fails . Because there might be no need for Trump to have elections in 2024 .

Chatter amongst friends and acquaintances is that they're moving up the lockdowns (in specific areas) and not giving good notice. 5.45pm last night for a 6pm curfew (brought forward from 8pm), and 1pm curfews today. Multiple alert texts with different times sent.

I have zero reason not to trust these folks and they're not making a big public cry or social media attention out of it, but folks can take is as anecdotally as they want.

There are plenty of good examples, but those 2 cases are not, in spite of what people think. (and Tamir Rice was only a slightly better example.) I gave a good one earlier; John Crawford. And there's Freddie Gray, Eric Garner... I'll think of some more. And a few of them were white.
fudging Tamil Rice was a fudging crazy example if you do not think so you’re basically brain dead.

Did I miss this in earlier posts here ?

Issue is the different autopsy reports.
One done immediately afterwards by officials with as conclusion "no evidence of suffocation".
And one done later ordered by the family of Floyd and done by the doctor who also examined the body of Eric Garner (killed 5 years ago by the police) with as conclusion "suffocation".

An autopsy ordered by George Floyd's family reveals that he died of suffocation from pressure on his neck and back.
The lawyers of the family announced this on Monday, reports news agency AP. A Minneapolis police officer held his knee to the black American's neck for several minutes and ignored his cries for help. The doctor who performed the autopsy found that the agent's knee pressure cut off the blood to Floyd's brain. In addition, the weight on his back made it difficult for Floyd to breathe, lawyer Ben Crump said at a news conference. The autopsy was done by the doctor who also examined the body of Eric Garner, the black American who was also killed by police brutality five years ago.
The outcome of the autopsy differs from the official autopsy previously performed. That autopsy has also been used in a criminal charge against the police officer who knelt on Floyd's neck.
The previous autopsy showed that there was no evidence of suffocation. Floyd is said to have died from a combination of factors such as handcuffs, underlying health problems and narcotics that he is said to have taken.

That was the kid with the toy gun right?

The one that really told me something was wrong was Philando Castile. He did everything right and still got murdered in front of his kid. Then they tried to victim blame with some garbage about marijuana. Pissed me off. Now the same scuzzbag lawyer from that case is working for Chauvin.

Doesn't matter IMO. Unless they want to claim that his death was just a coincidence and a guy standing on his neck for 10 minutes had nothing to do with that.

Do you not need for Court a medical causality of Floyd's death caused by that police officer ?

In the official autopsy the only relation between that police officer and the death of Floyd is that Floyd was handcuffed.
Who can accuse a police officer handcuffing someone ?

IDK
I am not a (US) lawyer

I'm not sure what you're asking. President Trump is a populist and a nationalist. (President Obama was a populist and a globalist) The white supremacists are nationalists too; they have been around for a long time but IMHO they have been emboldened by Trump's nationalism even though it's a different brand. I don't think Trump is much of a racist at all; I think he is remarkably non-racist for a man of his generation. If you scratch deep enough, there's probably a little racism there. If you scratch any of us deep enough you'll find tribalism, just different kinds.
You are aware of the Central Park Five?

Never trust the police because they face no consequences lying to you, even that autopsy report is a lie. Not even kidding. Toxicology report has not come back yet and they're pretending he was a junkie with absolutely zero evidence. Disgusting.

A man was shot and killed in Louisville after law enforcement said they had to "return fire" at a crowd of people. He was identified by family members as David McAtee, a popular chef and BBQ joint owner who used to feed cops for free (BuzzFeed News, via Twitter).

Tweet later in the thread I felt appropriate to quote:
Metro Council President David James says he wants answers as to why the Ky National Guard was dispatched to an area where locals hang out every night and where there was no protesting taking place. "I hope.. a beloved figure in the community was not killed over the curfew."

Tamir Rice is certainly a tragic example. No argument there. But if he pointed a realistic-looking toy gun at a police officer, it's hard to fault the officer for what happened. (did it have an orange tip? I don't think so but I don't trust my memory. I'm doing good to remember their names)

No, he took it away. The policemen got info that hes pointing out weapon on other people randomly, they should fall to false expectations that people are in immediate danger. Still I think if he would be an asian/white guy he would live.

I have reread some of cases on wikipedia today.
Philando Castile was clear murder.
George Floyd is murder.
Michael Brown and Trayvon Martin are quite justified self-defense to me.

Of course, its my european perspective. I dont know US laws.

Even in the most intense firefights I experienced in Iraq we wouldn't fire indiscriminately into crowds or other areas where we knew civilians would get caught in the crossfire.

I doubt the entire crowd was firing on them, if anyone was at all, so firing into said crowd isn't an acceptable action even if we take the Louisville police's story at face value. The proper course of action would have been to find cover/concealment, ascertain where/who the fire is coming from and either take steps to eliminate the threat or fall back to a better position if the threat can't be eliminated without causing unacceptable collateral damage.
