- removed the Temple of Solomon wonder and moved its effect to the Dome of the Rock
New design for Orthodoxy:
- Orthodoxy founded with Theology
- scripted founding of Orthodoxy in Jewish city
- shrine: Church of the Anastasis
New design for Catholicism:
- founded when more than half Orthodox cities are in civs without Orthodox state religion
- new Catholic holy city in the largest Orthodox city outside of an Orthodox civ in historically Catholic territory
- cities inside Orthodox civs remain Orthodox
- in other cities Catholicism replaces Orthodoxy if closer to the Catholic holy city than to the Orthodox holy city
- no conversion event since Orthodox civs are unaffected
- shrine: Saint Peter's Basilica
Adjustments for Christianity changes:
- better implementation for starting religions (all Christians start out as Orthodox but are updated as soon as their "correct" starting religion is founded before their spawn)
- removed Apostolic Palace wonder
- Apostolic Palance elections begin as soon as Saint Peter's Basilica is built
- no +2 hammers for Catholic buildings anymore
- returned Hagia Sophia as a wonder: +2 hammers in all state religion buildings
- updated the Ethiopian UHV to founding Orthodoxy
- updated the Holy Roman UHV to controlling Saint Peter's Basilica and the Church of the Anastasis in 1200 AD
Further religion rules changes:
- regional spread factor also impacts missionary success chances
- only missionaries of proselytizing religions (Buddhism, Christianity, Islam) can spread in civilizations that have a different state religion
- to adopt a "local" religion (Judaism, Taoism) as a state religion you need to control its shrine
- religions can disappear from a city if that religion cannot spread to the city under current circumstances (e.g. after owner or state religion change) or if too many religions are in a city, higher chances of disappearance right after a new religion has spread to the city
- religious buildings disappear with their religion
- moved code for removing/replacing Pagan Temples after religion spread to the DLL
- removed AI state religion autospread (free Arabian UP) from Seljuks and Mughals
WARNING: This revision (= v1.13.6) breaks save game compatibility once more (required to implement the new Hagia Sophia effect).
I'll follow up with a post (probably dev diary themed again) tomorrow, detailing some of this a bit more and listing pending religion changes for this version and what religion related stuff got pushed off into the indefinite future.
