Thanks for running the tests guys... just for showing that much passion and voicing your opinion, I will make this 60% water if you think it makes the maps more fun!

Also thanks for the emails chasbolt... hopefully between overnight and during the day tomorrow we will get a few last minute signups. I also PMed Calanthian who showed interest in the beginning, hopefully he will join. 3 players in 24 hours can't be too hard right?

Hopefully you guys don't mind the deadline, but really its necessary or else we might never get off the ground!

Actually I signed up for this site while at work (which blocks a lot of the images... stupid firewall) and use it mostly at work, like I am now... I never planned on being so active on here to bother with such a thing. But of course now that I am running a massive 18 man PBEM game, I should probably do something like that huh?

One of these days when i'm home I'll get an avatar loaded and everyone will love it ;)
 
Trading emails with Bart whom I mentioned earlier, may I give him the password to the pbem tracker.

Several of the other players have talked me into it. I'm Oliver, and I'm in Sydney (GMT+10) and should be able to get one turn a day in.
 
I was random but instead let me choose someone I haven't been; Peter, Darius or DeGaulle, with their civ would be fine. Anyone of the 3 doesn't matter. Pericles too, I always played Alex.

Ok -Oliver and Tudaio, you are both more than welcome. Thanks for the time zone. Can you please let me know what times of day you are generally available to do turns (either GMT or local time, I can adjust), so I can squeeze you into the rotation somewhere? I need this info asap so I can launch this evening with the correct turn order.

Also, to everyone - this is your last chance to select your leader if you havent already, otherwise you will be given Random, let me know!
 
Chasbolt - I randomly decided to give you Darius of Persia... I also play Persia, they are a fun empire to play, have fun with it!
 
****T-MINUS 7 HOURS TO LAUNCH UPDATE****

All - I just wanted to give a final update before launch tonight.

First of all - thanks to everyone for your patience, comments and efforts in filling the game. We currently have 15 guaranteed, 2 new players wanting to join (but need to get me more info and join PBEMtracker before launch to officially be in) and potentially this "Bart" friend of Eclipse would be 18 if I hear from him. I am still saying we have an open spot since I havent heard from Bart, but he has time to get to me. Once we get 18 officially the game will be considered closed. If anyone has the ability to contact Oliver, Tudaio and "Bart" to get the needed info for turn order and to sign onto PBEMtracker (these are the most important things we need) please do so!

I am launching the game this evening, approximately in the range of GMT 2200-2400 depending on work today. I will be using my best judgment at launchtime as to inclusion of the late entrants and their position in the turn order... any information I get from them up through launch will be used. I will not be delaying the launch however, so as to stay on schedule. We can always find a reason to wait, so meeting the launch deadline is critical to keeping the excitement going! Also, I have a busy weekend ahead of me and am not sure if I'll be able to launch until Monday if I don't do it tonight.

There will be two posts from me when the game is officially launched and game is locked down. One will include all logistics on turn order and timing again and let Paradigm Shifter (currently #2) that his turn is available. This information will also be posted on the main first page of this thread, along with final settings, for everyone's use. The second post will be a fun "welcome to the game" narrative post to get you excited to do your turn as soon as it comes to you!

We are 6 hours away from launch! I have updated PBEMtracker and the main page of this thread with the latest information - if you have any changes please tell me now! If you do not have a leader selected, I will give you Random. Currently Alexander represents "Random" on PBEMtracker and I will update once the game is launched. This is your last chance to select a leader before the gods choose one for you!

I hope you are all as excited as I am and this should be a very fun weekend going through the advanced starts!

I love D!CKs idea of doing a mirror game, great way to use the amassed player resource here. Some of us could fall out of the original game in following months, so theres atleast the backup game.. and it would be interesting to compare how people do in games with the same people, but different starting positions and perhaps strategies..

Also, maybe we should think of a price, as this seems to be one epic game already? :)

That is definitely a good idea, and I'm thinking of myself here... I dreamed last night about starting in a terrible spot in the middle of the desert with Bathsheba literally right next to me. The guy popped 3 great scientists before I got 1 and started rolling over the world. For some reason he actually didnt attack me and somehow picked up and moved his capital to a different area (not a new city - MOVED THE CITY) and gave me a little 4 square area to work with lol.

Point is - an unlucky roll of the dice and a few people could be out of this game REALLY FAST.

So a mirror game definitely makes sense. I won't be able to launch the mirror game over the weekend (busy weekend for me) however I will set up another PBEMtracker game early next week, send out info to get everyone signed in and launch on one of my "off days" using the same settings, but a differently random map. Great idea by Dick.

Count - I currently have 3 players who have not signed in to PBEMtracker or given me hours that they are generally available to do turns for the purpose of having a smooth turn rotation. At this point I am willing to give priority to those who I have on PBEMtracker and availability for, as it will be easier to track and give me much more confidence in the turn order running smoothly.

If you'd like to sign in and give me your availability, I will give you priority over these 3 currently. If they get back to me with the requested information, unfortunately you would be #19, but be the #1 replacement.

Also, choose a leader if you'd like, otherwise you'll be Random.

The password to PBEMtracker was PM'ed to you
 
Hi, I've signed up with PBEMtracker, although I've never used it before.

I'd be ok for moves 06.00 - 08.00 & 18.00 - 21.00 GMT.

Also, I enjoy playing as Augustus Caesar.

Skill level Noble, so I'd probably be in for a whipping :)
