GodNES - The Beast with a Thousand Backs

Deity: The Curator
Player: Seon
Embodiment: Memories and Preservation
Might/Realm/Patronage: 1/1/0

1 PP: Blinding of Ceradus

Time, and the inevitable changes that it brings is the greatest threat to the Curator and its memories. As a creature of the past, he may soon find himself locked out of the present.

Ergo, he will preserve the Timelessness of Afaja within his realms, locking out Ceradus's influences and blinding him of these lands.

1 PP: The Museum

The Curator looked upon what would become its greatest creation: a cavern carved out of its own bones with chambers built out of its own organs. It is built in a place where time has no meaning, in order to keep Ceradus out. It hopes to stave off Borog and its darkness with stones forged out of the first light. It hopes to keep Thwapp away with its dominion.

Here, it hopes to contain all the mysteries of the past. It does not yet understand that stories mean little with nobody to tell them to.

Just for clarification.

You're barring Ceradus from your domain, because I'll cause time to go and that's against everything you stand for.

For a second, i thought you were literally blinding me. xD

You will be unaware of everything that happens within the Curator's Domain.

Because Curator's whole point is that he is omniscient, he views anyone else with less vision than he has as being essentially blind.

Your timelessness will/does infuriate Ceradus to no end. Order must be attained.

Curator outages you by a timeless eternity, childe, timelessness and stasis is order.

Please stop fighting...

Nagrot does relaize that while she may be above the other gods the sun is ten times abover her than that. So show some respect maggot!

The pool that will be Merphous bubbles with amusement.

Curator outages you by a timeless eternity, childe, timelessness and stasis is order.

By the very chaos that is the timelessness of Afaja, you also outage Ceradus by no time at all.

Babam!

OOC @ Seon: I have thought of a story where I stuck a finger though a peaking hole while you were sealing it, so one of my fingers is stuck in time. However, it does leave a hole in your timeless wall. What do you think about that?

Nagrot does relaize that while she may be above the other gods the sun is ten times abover her than that. So show some respect maggot!

Ah, but Nargot can easily block the sun from reaching to the ground, thus preventing those down below from being able to appreciate the sun. By being the middlegoddess between the ground and the sun, Nargot has dominance over both. So how about you show some respect? ;)

Sorry for the silence guys. Spent a lot of time with my girlfriend last week.

@Angst, As someone still very interested in joining, but not mentioned as an upcoming God, can you clarify what (if anything) is expected of me at this point? Thx :)

Nothing really. But if you want to up your chances adn get in earlier, make yourself visible. Being active in the thread, participating in theology, writing good stories, etc., is what helps me picking you.

Did you announce the upcoming Gods somewhere, I may have missed it.

Aw crud, I forgot to upload the queue. It'll be up tomorrow. The gods that arrive next turn will be Solonos, Artharax and Ceradus. Next turn after that, I'll introduce another row of gods to the NES.

Anyways, I'll reiterate how the queue works:
- Each update, I will add at least one god per thread submission chronology to the roster.
- Also, each update, I will strive to include at least one handpicked god from across the thread. This isn't a guarantee though, but it's a serious goal of mine.
- If I only add 1 god per turn (which is unfortunately possible with the above system), it will be because of already-too-much workload, not because I dislike anyone. Again, this NES had 30 submissions before the first turn. Some handpicking is necessary.

In conclusion, it paid to submit faster, but it also pays to submit better and participate so I like your entity more.

All that said, I love what people are posting in the thread so far. I'll recount the orders and god entry confirmations so far!

The void was silent. He detested that. Nothing moved. Nothing spoke. Nothing changed

And Jarquin hated it. He struggled at his bonds, looking longingly at the orb before him. There, in the distance, farther away than any could conceive, lay change. On that small orb of blackened flesh, the land moved and the world was alive. He could almost touch it. It was inches away, nearly touching his snout. He leaned forward, his tail perking up behind him. He was certain he could touch. He knew he could.

It came no closer. If it did, he could not see. Jarquin screamed, but no sound was made. The darkness was oppressive. It wouldn't change. It couldn't change.

He could feel his work undone. He needed to guide that world. To craft it. To build it. To change it. He had no choice in the matter; it was his fate. And like him, the gods and young life needed a guide. A destiny. They needed change.

He reached out again, a single paw grasping to the distance. The orb, he could swear, was near to him. Again, his paw felt nothing but the void. And the void was nothing, and nothing was the void.

He bounded towards it, his red fur streaming behind him. And then his bonds reappeared, and he realized they'd always been there. And around him, nothing moved. Nothing spoke. Nothing changed. And Jarquin screamed, a piercing sound which none could hear.

Rage overcame him, and the fox strained at his bonds. And the cycle repeated, unchanged.

@Angst: I have a question. Does water exist yet? Does it, perhaps, only exist in the bodies of living organisms? I was thinking that the Abyssal Font might be the world's source of water, the seas being formed by streams of the spring water emerging through the Earth's surface. Even if water does already exist, that might be something interesting for Greyti (Everblack) to consider.

Deity: Borog
Player: Lord_Iggy
Embodiment: Darkness and Fear
Might/Realm/Patronage: 1/1/0

The Black Delvings. 1 point. Borog gnaws, chisels and bores his way deep into and throughout the depths of the earth, creating a labyrinthine network of tunnels, vast halls and caverns, far from the scouring of the sun. Here, the essence of darkness is best preserved, and Borog will do his best to preserve it.

The Abyssal Font. 1 point. Borog casts his reach into the heart of the abyssal darkness, and draws it forth into the formed world. This takes the form of a great subterranean spring, from which gushes forth waters of incredible cleansing power.

In the time before time, Borog came to discover his otherness, and it isolated him from his fellow primordials. Even as he grew withdrawn from his fellows, he grew closer to the darkness, the shadowy matter of Afaja from which Borog himself had been formed. Seeing himself as its sole heir and protector, Borog set out to carve out a subterranean realm, where his dark domain might be preserved. As he conducted his long work, he bathed in the abyss, and was enriched and strengthened by it, merging it into his own being. At the instant that time began, Borog would find himself as the master and sole resident of a vast underground expanse, a fortress of darkness.

Right, I'm still around and down for this. Should I reupload and redo my previous thing in preparation for this Aeon?

I think the Tome of Laws should still stand as applicable, given I don't think anybody has arisen from the Primeval Ooze just yet and everybody's playing around in the sky.

ED: Actually I might fix up my previous App anyway because I want to rethink his physical appearance.

Excerpts from the Orod Nekarok, The Black Book

The Elements of the Universe

Of all that exists, all that exists belongs to one of two moieties: Matter, and Void. In the beginning, the two parts of creation were isolated. However, upon the death of Afaja, creation began to unfold, and the elements began to mix.

Matter is that which was born forth from the flesh of Afaja, the All-Father. Matter exists in many forms. It is the breathed air, the treaded water, and the trodden earth. The burning sun itself is matter, for it was begat from the Left Eye of the Cosmic Turtle. Three of the primordials themselves were formed from Matter. Curator, Thwapp and Borog, the Scions of Afaja, each hail from the flesh of Afaja. Their heritage, thus, grants them tremendous powers over the physical stuff of the universe.

Void, known to some as 'Aether', is the medium through which the Demon Chelonian swam. Void is not, as one might expect, mere nothingness. Rather, like matter, it possesses a tremendous diversity of forms. However, unlike Matter, Void is untouchable. It may be known, but not measured. It may be changed, but not carved. For Void is the stuff of concepts and ideas. Two of the primordials were born from the Void. Both Primanus the Gardener and Tsamnir the Guardian were formed from Aether. One represents the concept of life, the other the concepts of balance and contradiction. Thus, while they wield no direct power over Matter, each possesses the potent ability to instill Void-born concepts into matter, much as Primanus took the inert and degraded matter of Afaja's body, and compelled it into a state of living.

Thus have the actions of the primordial Gods served to begin the admixture of Matter and Void, setting the universe on its path, towards an ever-closer mixture of the two forms of existence. So it shall continue, until object and concept become indistinguishable.
