I've played this game before though (elsewhere) and it's pretty fun. Especially when you end up in some longass road in Africa and there's zebras and stuff around you. That's really cool.

Well that sux :undecide:

I swear there was a road sign with a rhinoceros on it but it was 9,000 km away a from the spot I guessed in Africa. :mad: Some of these are tricky.

Fun game. 10864 points and 270 something for closest guess.

My total score was 9,431 within 5 rounds.

We had the game on the forum before.

My 1 round before i remembered that i hate the thing:

Sweden -> British Columbia
France -> New Brunswick
Taiwan = Taiwan
Norway -> Tasmania
New Foundland -> Finland

This was even lower on human-caused indicators than i remembered.
I could hold #1 and #5 next to each other and be like "WTH are you talking about?"

It's a game for bleeping botanists! :rolleyes:

It's often a matter of luck indeed. I always look to the roads if they are available. Double yellow-stripes are almost certainly USA or Canada.

Take #2:
Australia -> Australia (let's not talk about the distance)
Australia -> Australia (let's not talk about the distance)
Australia -> South Africa (bleeping Anglosphere road signs all look the same)
Maine -> Illinois (some lake, again)
California (asian vegetation, obese cars, obese people - i call botanic garden) -> Illinois (underappreciated the obesity of people)

Ok, it's addictive.
Still hate it.

I don't get roads (well rarely). I mostly get windswept shores and windswept lakesides with either no man-made indicators (except maybe a path) or some non-formal indicators that merely convey vague cultural context (i.e. one of them wooden "houses" they have everywhere in the post-colonial Anglosphere (in the blurry distance of course) - by which i don't mean a NH townhouse but one of these simple things that presumably have a bathtub full of meth right next to them).

A 269km on my second one (Australian road). :D

6946pts for the five. Three I hit the same continent, within 1000km, the other two were wrong hemisphere.

Cool game.

Take 3:

Sweden = Sweden (big distance)
Japan = Japan (Echizen -> Sado)
Devon -> Scotland (had to hedge for all of the UK and Ireland as well as much of the french coast :()
Hungary freebee (lol)
Sweden -> Finland (they all have red houses - there was no lake next to this one, so...)
13 k

I still hate it. And it's still addictive.
I should try again, once i had my coffee.

Four out of five in the same country I placed the pointer but that last one... yeah please go away South Africa, nobody likes you :mad:

Georgia => Russia, but northern Russia
South Finland => North Finland
Mexico => Mexico (there was a flag in the image xD)
Spain => Spain
Panama => Brasil

10587 points =D

I only play the Japan version. Found myself just a few feet away... I always look around for signs, then I found I was on this small island in southern Japan (not Okinawa) so it was pretty easy to figure out from there where I was.

I'm hopeless at this. The best I did was guessing somewhere in Alberta and it was really Saskatchewan.

I had to drive down a long road in to find out that I was in fact in Alberta. But at that point I could move around the minimap to make a fine-tuned guess :grr:

My worst was a wedding:
Spoiler :
I guess Alabamaish, was in fact Central Brazil

My best so far is 526.226 km.:( Not that I'm rasist or anything, but damn trees all look alike to me.

Edit: Make that 7.97 km! [pimp]

Where the heck was the 8km? :goodjob:

I'm no good at this game. The cars were driving on the right and the signs were on the right. Naturally I go for somewhere in the states, only for it to actually be in France... :(

EDIT:

London map, but I'm still pretty proud of this given that I rarely stray that far north.

My closest guess was in the Netherlands. It was the windmill that helped.

I hereby claim the title of grandmaster of this game on CFC.

I did get lucky and have one right next to where I live though. It was not the Bhutan one, FYI.
